If you used a bassinet how long did your LO use it for. Would you consider it worth it?

I was in the camp of putting baby straight in the crib so we didn't get a bassinet. Well....our baby had reflux and refused to sleep on his back so my husband went out the second day home from the hospital to get a bassinet so we could keep a closer eye on him! We used it for 3.5 months which is when we transitioned him to his crib. Though he did nap in his crib.

I think so. I wanted the baby right next to the bed for the first little while and the bassinet made that much easier. It also let me hear him stirring and get to him before he was fully crying. I always felt like the crib was too big for him when he was a teeny newborn. We used the Uppababy bassinet for four months with our first, and our second is currently 11 weeks and has lots of room in the Halo Bassinest (which I like but am not sure it's worth the money. Definitely not full price)

My baby is 6 weeks and is still in his bassinet. I can't imagine putting him down in the crib yet. It's nice to be able to respond to him throughout the night with feedings before he starts screaming. I plan on keeping him in it until he grows out of it, he is sleeping better throughout the night, or until we decide we are ready for him to be in his crib.

Yep. Being able to just sit up and put a pacifier in was so worth it for the first few months. It seems silly, when you're pregnant and buying, but it is nice to have them near for those first weeks-- you sleep more and better.
We used ours until baby was rolling, right before 4 months. No where near weight limits on it, but rolling seemed like the time to dump swaddles and bassinet

We only used ours for about a month but would have used it longer except our bedroom was so small that it didn't really fit. Next baby we will use it longer because we have a bigger room now

It was hard for me to get out of bed and lean down to pick her up from the bassinet. I had an infection, though, and was in a lot of pain. We used it a couple of months. We installed the ikea gulliver crib as a sidecar to our bed, and next time I will do that from the beginning. It was much more comfortable and convenient.

We have two bassinets (babyhome & halo) and baby has yet to nap or sleep well in either for me to say they were worth it.

We used it for about two months and he slept well in it. If we have another child I will probably buy a new one- borrowed from my sister for the first. We have a small room off our bedroom that I'd like the baby to sleep in so maybe it's not worth a bassinet next to the bed for the first weeks, not sure.

With LO1 we used hers for 6 months. It's more of a small mini crib and it was great to have her right next to meet those early days. LO2 won't sleep in it yet at 6 weeks so hopefully we still get some mileage out of it.

I was nursing so it made it easier to feed her the first few months. She stayed in it 5-6 months actually. She slept in a snugglie with this wedge thing under her to keep her in place and not roll over. So I wasn't worried about rolling over.

My son slept in his Mamaroo swing for six weeks then we used his crib. We barely used our Moses basket.
If I have a second baby, I will probably look into an arm's reach cosleeper. But only if I have fewer breastfeeding issues than the first time. And this is partly because we will probably have the two kids share a bedroom, but we would need to keep the baby in our room until it STTN.

We used a hand made cradle for the first few weeks in our room and then transitioned straight to crib. I liked the idea of having a bassinet/cradle but I am such a crap sleeper that I could never relax with her in the room with me! We both slept better when we were apart. I think a bassinet would be handy to have in other rooms though like your family room to put baby down quickly when they fall asleep in the early days. We had a pNp set up for that purpose.

We used this (http://www.gracobaby.com/products/pages/little-lounger-ardmore.aspx) since birth (4 months and counting) and love it. He's close enough to feed at night without getting out of bed and it works great when traveling.

We used the bassinet insert in the PnP until about 5 months. I had a bassinet on the main floor to put him in for the first couple months.

We had one, it was on wheels and I loved it because we lived in an apartment all on one floor and I could wheel it around as needed.
I think we used it for at least 4 months.

Thanks everyone I found a reasonably priced one on amazon by delta children

We used ours for 3 months. You could also use a package n play in the same way.

We had my son's crib in our room for 4 weeks--honestly would have been easier--even if just for that month--to have a bassinet. This time we have one.

We used a RnP for the first 3 months and then had a hell of a time transitioning to the crib. I'm eyeing the Halo bassinet for LO #2.
