Am I a bad mom if I don't have a car seat cover? Can't I just dress Baby V in warm clothes and add a blanket? It seems like a waste of money to me. I'm not going to take my infant out in the cold for extended periods of time.

I'd say it depends on where you live. I live in Nebraska and the winters can get pretty nasty here, so It was a necessity for us. I loved the car seat cover.

I'm not getting one. Even though I'm having a winter baby (due late Nov) we live in Nashville where the weather is pretty mild and like you I just don't see a circumstance where my baby will be outside for much longer than the time if take to walk from the car to the door.

it was a necessity for us, but we have long, cold winters. that way i could dress olive/charlie warm up top with a puffy jacket, and they'd be ok with just pants on the bottom. we were out in the cold a lot. we also have a super duper thick 7pm stroller bunting, and most people in ny have one. it's just too cold here.
definitely not a must have in warmer climates though.

I live in Georgia and am due the first week in September (the 6th), and I am planning to get a Bundle Me for stroller walks. I want to be able to cruise around the neighborhood this fall with butterbean. But I don't think it's a necessity.

Definitely depends on where you live. It doesn't get incredibly cold here, but it snows a lot in the winter, so I found that a car seat cover plus a blanket is the best way to keep my baby dry and warm.
Fwiw, there are cheaper alternatives to the BundleMe. We have a cover like this:

I'm in upstate NY, and we didn't have one. We drive most places, so a blanket over DS after he was strapped in, plus one draped over the carseat while we went in and out of the house/car was all we used. If you don't walk outside in the colder months a lot, or you don't live way up north where it gets really bitter cold, you should be just fine without one.
If you do get one, make sure to get one that only goes over the car seat. The ones that have a layer that goes between the carseat and the baby are not safe if you are using them while driving. Any aftermarket products that go between the carseat and the baby (including strap covers, snuzzle me, etc....) will void you warranty and can affect your insurance company from paying out medical bills if your LO was hurt.

I had the shower cap type cover, also from JJCole. It worked perfectly for what I needed it for, which was to keep my December baby warm in transit. I didn't spend much on it, $25 I think.

I think with a snowsuit infant coat and blanket you should be fine if you don't walk a lot. I am only getting one because I walk around my neighborhood for exsercise. I won't take it everywhere...I mean how much protection will you need going from car to grocery store? It's like a one min trip:)
