I was just thinking about how there have been so many changes in the past decade! Life used to involve so much human interaction... and now it doesn't.

GROCERY SHOPPING
Back in the day: A cashier would ring you up.
Now: You ring yourself up at the self checkout

TAXIS
Back in the day: You would hail a cab and talk to the driver the whole trip
Now: You push a button on your phone and an Uber shows up. The whole time you're in the car, you surf your phone.

CHAT
Back in the day: When I was a kid, my friends would come over and we would talk about the day on my front stoop.
Now: I text my friends if something comes up. Or we chat over IM.

TV
Back in the day: Bee and I would watch TV while sitting side by side.
Now: We each watch our own shows on Hulu or Netflix.

I'm an introvert, so I prefer a lot of these changes! But I kind of liked how life forced me to socialize more back in the day. Now it's so easy to be a hermit... which makes my life easier, but maybe not better.

Have you noticed life involving less human interaction over the years? Any other changes you'd add to the list above?
