I think it's weird too. I doubt your ex told his wife though. Maybe he just really likes the name Abigail?

I have a friend with a similar situation. Her and her ex had a boy's name they loved and both would say when they had kids, that would be the name. Well, they ended up breaking up down the road and he named his first boy that name with his wife. She thought it was strange, as well. It would be different if it were a family name, but they spent a lot of time dreaming of their future children, so she was actually a little hurt by it.

Definitely a little odd!

When I was pregnant with DS before finding out he was a DS and not a DD my ex threw out the name Kobi from a certain "actress" he liked... I said heck no & then DS was infact a DS so it was a non-issue. When he & his now new wife had their first son guess what they named him... yep, Kobe.

I think maybe guys don't think about names like we do and once they find one they like, regardless of what prompted it, they stick with it. *shrugs shoulders*

@MamaMoose: agreed. I wouldn't have used a name DH picked with his ex. That's totally weird.

It's not something I'd do but maybe the wife doesnt know or figures that you didn't use the name together and doesn't care. I'd definitely classify that as odd to answer your original question!
