That my (almost) 6 week old has gone from eating about every 2 hours to eating every 3 hours in the past week? Do they increase time between feeds as they get older? I'm really hesitant to wake him up to eat when he's napping.

Totally normal! His stomach is getting bigger so he can get more in him at a feeding so it lasts longer. I did however wake LO up (during the day) every three hours in order to help keep my supply up and to make sure LO got enough to eat during the day and therefore wouldn't wake as much at night.

Totally normal!! I'm not sure if Xander increased to 3 hours at that age or a little later, but it's definitely normal!!

very much normal i think my LO was a little older, like maybe 8 weeks, but they're getting more efficient, their tummies are getting bigger... it's to be expected

Normal but my LC told me to wake him to eat every 2 1/2 hrs during the day to keep up supply and help him sleep longer at night.

Yep, M started spacing out her feedings around 8 weeks. It really bothered me, and it still kinda does. I miss the days when she would eat whenever I offered haha. Made trips out a lot easier!

Oh good, thanks! I suppose if he wanted fed more frequently he would be a crying mess until he got what he wanted. It's hard when they can't tell you what they want!

When DD2 was at the sitters house last friday from 8AM-4PM she ate one 6oz bottle and then 2 more ounces of another bottle....She is eating so far apart now. It's strange to me but, if she was hungry she would eat, right?
