I wish I had chilled. out. But I'm glad I stocked the freezer, bought extras of things like paper products and toiletries, and let myself off the hook for DS watching endless cartoons. We also had DS spend more time with family since we knew he was going to have regular playtime with aunts, grandmas, etc the first few postpartum weeks and wanted that to feel normal to him. Date night.

I wish I had somebody drill into my head that 2nd babies can come very quickly. I almost gave birth in the car because I thought it should feel like my first labor.
I was glad I bought snacks and prepared meals. I enjoyed finishing LO1's baby book to put me in the baby mood. I was also glad I wrote lots of instructions for my parents (they can't get enough detail). I included a lot of "when LO asks for X she means YZ." Mainly I relaxed. No regrets.

What we DID do that I am happy with: Took LO1 to do as much fun-filled family weekends and mommy & me bonding as possible! lol, we were at Disneyland late the night before labor! Cleaned out the guest room (for family staying with LO1) and the garage.
What I WISH we'd done before (note, LO2 arrived 2.5 weeks early): Cleaned out the fridge and pantry! I spent a couple sleep-deprived hours the 2nd day home cleaning the fridge from top to bottom and trashing old items, etc. With all the food people will bring over, the fridge and pantry need space for it all! In our case, I wish we'd finished painting the nursery. I'm not too stressed about the decorating, but the painting is kind of hard to get done now. I also wish I'd stocked up/gathered postpartum supplies. By the time I needed them, I couldn't find all my leftover lanolin/nipple cream, etc. Had to send DH out to buy pads (and of course not ones I'd choose myself), stool softener, etc. Couldn't find the hand-pump. Wish I'd been a little more organized earlier since I had been told subsequent babies come faster!

Get a haircut! I didn't do it before LO1 and then he was almost 5 months by the time I got one! I planned for one right before LO2 was due, but she came early, so I missed the haircut again!

I got a pedicure the night I went into labor with LO1! It was amazing, and I'm convinced it's what started labor Not to mention, my toes looked pretty!
I'm planning to do the same this week!

I got everything done that I wanted to! pedicure, hair, windows on the house, cleaned the siding, organized the pantry and fridge, organized baby clothes, etc, freezer breakfasts and dinners, etc. I had put all the PP supplies I would need into a little basket. I knew where everything was in the linen closet because I had just organized it.
I worked from home two weeks before my due date and I hardly had any real work to do, so I was able to do stuff around the house in between emails and such.

deffinitely do some mommy and me stuff, and make a big deal about how your LO is a big boy/girl. But, also be sure to take some time for yourself. It will be hard and a long time before you can get some nice alone time.

I've still got months to go but my plan before baby #2 is to fit in a pedicure, haircut, and depending on how I'm feeling, a massage. And maybe go to a movie by myself. I predict that I'll be tied down breastfeeding for a while after that so it'll be the last time I'll be able to disappear for a few hours (I plan to take the week before my due date off work, though, so it'll be easier because my son will be in daycare).

I wish I packed a hospital bag. I was hospitalized at 35 weeks and I was not prepared at all.

@erinbaderin: sounds like my plan too - definitely go see a movie, I rarely get to go now.

@lamariniere: Good one! I didn't get one after LO1 was born for probably 6 months.
Meant to get my hair colored the weekend after LO2 decided to show up.
