Is there any actual way to confirm you have ovulated at home? Or are blood tests from the doctor the only way to conclusively confirm that you are actually ovulating?
If you get a positive OPK AND a temp rise, is that a sure sign that you have ovulated? Or is it possible you are still not ovulating?

I believe tracking your basal body temp will tell you for sure (or, as sure as you can get). OPKs only tell you that your body is gearing up for ovulation, but don't conclusively say that you did, if I remember correctly. I never did OPKs, though, only tracked my temps (and the month I got my BFP, I definitely o-ed when temps said I did based on the day I got my BFP and my due date.)

Temps can give you an idea, but they're not for sure because there's something called LUFS where your egg doesn't actually release but everything else happens as if it did - your temps go up, etc. You'd have to have an u/s to see if the follicle is still there. But usually a 7dpo progesterone blood test could tell you whether you've ovulated.

Thanks to hurricane sandy, I was unsure if I ovulated my first cycle on clomid, but the Dr. said I most likely had since I got a positive OPK and exactly two weeks later I got my period.

I'm not sure about a doctor's confirmation, but the best indicator is generally a temperature rise. The bad news is that if you don't sleep well or long enough that can impact your temp. So tracking CM, temps, and using OPK's- those 3 combined can give you the best indicator from all my research and experience.
And FYI, I had a temp rise (somewhat?) and one positive OPK (I wasn't tracking CM at the time) when I got my BFP, but fertility friend didn't even give me crosshairs (which it sets when it seems to observe ovulation, I guess?) so either way... BD every other day is always a good idea

@SpanielLove explained it well! I think that is uncommon, but you could have all the signs of ovulation and not actually ovulate.
@Pui: I took a look at your chart, and I could predict you'll get crosshairs in a few more days.

@Happygal: Thanks! I am just kind of concerned that my temp still seems really low for after O...? I don't know, this is my first cycle charting lol. I am probably worried about nothing.

@pui: I think it was due to bad sleep/wake ups effecting my temps being accurate. I don't sleep well ever so I was always wary of my temps. Some of the jumps were undeniable but towards the end I was so frustrated because I didn't feel like they were reliable.

@Pui: don't worry. Sometimes people are slow risers. If you take a look at other charts, you'll see these time and time again. In fact, you can search the charts for slow rise patterns that resulted in pregnancy!

Aside from my time changes (most mornings I temp at 5:30 am, sometimes closer to 6:30 am), my chart has been fairly accurate. It's weird because my temps range from the high 96* to 98 post-O.

@pui: I think it's safe to stop using OPKs once you get a positive. I remember someone getting a second positive later in their cycle but it's never happened to me...

@Pui: sometimes people gear up to ovulate, but they don't. I don't think that's what has happened for you though. You can stop with the OPKs.
