the photog who did our newborn pics is selling her DSLR and getting new gear. here are the stats she told me: Nikon D3100 14.2 MP Digital SLR camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-3.6 lens with Vibration Reduction for $350.00 I have been looking around for DSLRs but have no clue if this is a good deal or not! I am not camera savvy....any bees with helpful info? is this a good deal or would i be better off buying new?

I don't think so. Amazon has it for $450 right now...I haven't tracked the nikons as much (I'm a Canon girl) but that seems high for a used, entry level DSLR with a standard package lens.

I agree...I think it's a bit high for being used. And like @stiffaknee: said...the lens is a standard beginner lens.
