R will be 8 months old in just a few days. He is EBF and gets one bottle of breastmilk a day (usually 5 oz before bed). He has been a milkaholic since day 1....rarely goes longer than 3 hours without eating (except overnight...he still nurses 1-2x overnight). We started solids at 5 months and he loves solids and around 6 months was finally able to go 3 hours between nursing sessions....previously was hard to get him to go longer than 2.

Last week he got a virus which turned out to be roseola. He nursed fine while he had the fever....but then once the fever broke and he got the rash (Monday) he started nursing less. And the last few days it's a struggle to get him to nurse more than a few mins. He's no longer fussy from the virus and is completely happy. He doesn't have any teeth but certainly seems like he's getting some. Also just about to crawl....taking some crawling steps, etc....just very nosy and interested in everything.

He eats tons of solids (BLW.....and actually ingests food because he has the pincer grip down well).

Anyways, what do I do? He just doesn't seem interested in nursing at all....even if I go to a dark room that's quiet he acts like he wants to nurse, will latch but before the let down even comes...he's over it. Today, he nursed at midnight, 5:30 a.m.....and then I tried nursing him at 8:30 without any success. (It's 9:30 now and he went to sleep at 9). I also don't feel like he's drinking any more (ounces wise) than usual that would explain why he doesn't want to nurse as frequently.

Curveball - I was off dairy for 6.5 months because of his reflux / spit up. I started eating dairy regularly 3 weeks ago and his spit up is completely fine and seems fine with the change otherwise. Not sure if this is why he doesn't want to nurse?!

Suggestions? Normal? Keep offering breast? Give more bottles?

Thanks!
