Today our ped prescribed a topical antibiotic for around my LO's mouth after she had some irritated skin. I put it on her earlier today and bc it's an ointment, it doesn't really absorb very fast. I nursed her and noticed that some got on my boob and she will occasionally pop on and off and I worried she may have ingested some. She also will put her fingers on her face, where a little of the ointment rubs off and then she will put her fingers in her mouth.

I just went to check on her bc she has been really restless all night and I noticed her laying in the crib awake tossing and turning. Even though we are sleep training, I felt like I needed to go check on her, so I did. Of course once she saw me, she was hysterical, so I nursed her. While I was in there, I went ahead and reapplied the topical (it just looks so bad! Even in the dark!), and she moved and smeared some on the boob. So I switched her to the other side, but she kept popping on and off and I know she smeared some on the boob, I just couldn't tell if it was in a place where she could have ingested it.

The medicine is mupirocin/Bactroban.

Now I can't sleep bc I'm worried about her being poisoned or something!
