Charlie's school is closed (public school), but luckily Olive's daycare is open so he's going to spend the day there.
Is your daycare closed? How do working parents do it with so many holidays!? We're lucky to have flexibility in our schedules, but I can't imagine how hard it is for parents who work out of the home!

Yes, on our calendar i wrote, DH's "day off". He was not amused. I still have to work that day but he gets the extra government holidays off. I will probably work from home to help him out though.

DD's private school is closed tomorrow for a Teacher Conference Day, Monday for Veteran's, and for 3 full afternoons the following week due to Parent/Teacher conferences. She also only goes to school for 1.5 days during Thanksgiving week. Don't know what we would do if I weren't home!

School is closed. Yeah, this is part of the reason why I am not looking for work. So many school holidays! It is less stressful trying to juggle it as a SAHM. It's no big deal if school is closed or if the kids are home sick.

Nope, ours is open, but they were closed for Columbus day, and are closed three days for Thanksgiving... My vacation and sick leave are gone at this point

Ours is closed (they do their annual conference for the new england Bright Horizons on Veterans Day). I'll be working, but luckily my husband has the day off as a holiday as well.

School is closed, but daycare is open.
I work in education, so I have the day off, but the little, little one is still going to daycare because mama has lots to catch up on.

Ours is closed. We both have to work. Hubs's parents are coming down to watch D.
ETA: To answer your question, @Mrs. Bee: for us it depends on the day. If it's a holiday, then most likely one or both of us is off (like Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day, etc). If it's a random government holiday, like Veteran's Day or Columbus Day, then we try to have one of the grandparents come down. Our daycare is also closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and both of us have to work, but we're taking those days as vacation days to spend some extra holiday time together as a family.

@Mamaof2: Ours is closed for an entire week too. They use it as there vacation time. Luckily my work is also closed that week so we don't have to worry about alternative care. I don't know what we would do if both of us had to work!

@yoursilverlining: @mrsmate: My sister works at a DCP and she always tell me how she cant believe parents drop off their kids when they are off for the day ..... I told her she was just jealous that she couldn't do that! haha

daycare is closed - luckily we're part time so we don't go on all the Monday holidays that I don't get off work.
we've had enough trouble just with figuring out sick days though!

Ours is closed and neither of us have it off. I took this day and Christmas Eve while DH has taken some other days. We are pretty good about alternating or working around each other's work schedules. It stinks, but we have to save a fair amount of vaca time for daycare closings.
