She is happy to see me. Then, she gets pissed that I'm making her leave and she cries.

my baby showed little reaction to my presence until he was about 6 or 7 months--then he started smiling when he saw me.
glad your toddler enjoys daycare and her friends so much!

My DD is pretty happy. She's not THRILLED but she's usually smiling when I pick her up. My son doesn't want to leave! He keeps begging me to let him stay there. I guess that's a good thing. But it makes pick ups a lot longer than it needs to be.

It kind of depends on the day. Some days she'll smile and come crawling over to me or reach her arms out to me if she's being held. Other days she'll look at me, smile, then continue playing

we are still in the transition phase (just started a month ago at 19 mo) so she starts screaming MAMA when she sees me coming and comes right over. I am actually hoping to see it go to her being happy with her friends over time!

Nope. lol. She still cries when I come to get her... I can't tell it's because she associates me = boobs and she's mad I'm not whipping them out... or if she's just mad that I make her stop playing.

The one time I picked her up (I usually do drop off and DH does pickups) she screamed held her arms out and ran to me.

Yes, starting at about 6 months. Before that I would pick her up, drive her home, get her upstairs and in the apartment before she realized it was me and smiled. Funny girl.

At first now reaction other than a smile and then back to whatever he was playing with. But now he gets mad if I stop to fill out papers or gather up his things. He wants me to pick him up ASAP!!!

when she was around 13 -15 months she would get mad at me because she wanted to stay there. These days she is still adjusting to the new toddler room so she is happy to see me

She's happy to see me, but if she's playing with our lady's daughters she cries when I try to get her to leave!

DD is always happy to see me but more recently instead of dropping everything and running to me, she smiles big and tells me to "hold on, mommy, one second" so that she can finish colouring/eating her snack/playing. SIGH.

Yes... for the last 2 months or so (she's 10 mo now), she's gotten really excited when I arrive. Her face lights up and she crawls as fast as she can to get to me, pulls up on my leg, and reaches her arms out. She gives me a big hug and waves bye to her teachers... it is my favorite part of the day!
@Rubies: cute!

@Rubies: So cute! At least she doesn't run away anymore.
Mine starts crying because she missed me. It's so frustrating.
