@Danizaur: So happy it's finally the big day! You can totally refuse to be monitored for a little bit if you would like. Not to get too into it, but I just read a study that showed that continuous monitoring, or even monitoring for 20 minutes every hour, does not affect the outcome of the birth compared to just sporadic checks every now and again. You're totally within your right to say "I'm staying on this ball for little bit woman!" Or you can ask if she will just check with a Doppler instead.
Hope all goes well, so excited for you!

I'm at a 2. They got the internal monitor on. It wasn't so bad at all this time. But it made his heart rate drop so we had a panic moment. He's fine now but they want me to rest in the bed for a bit on oxygen to make sure he's stable. Then they want me to get back on the ball. They've stopped my pitocin for now but will start it back up soon.

@Danizaur: If you are sitting up in bed, try doing hip circles, like you are belly dancing from a sitting position. Basically moving your pelvis in a figure 8. It's great for getting baby to descend and engage when you are stuck in bed.

@Danizaur: I had that oxygen mask so long cause R's heart rate would drop and pick back up for hours. Kept having to move me. Hang in there. And sneak all the fries you want!

Great job, mama! Not sure if you have access to a breast pump, but I used a manual breast pump early on in my induction and it really got things moving.

At a 3! Feeling really run down so I asked for an epi. Not what I wanted but I kept my options open and I feel good! I'm proud of the way I managed the pain and know I could have kept going if I needed to but I really needed a break and a rest. I think the relaxing will help a lot.

@danizaur: good luck, you are doing great. While it doesn't happen for everyone, the epidurals sped up my labor progress considerably; hoping the same for you.

@Danizaur: good luck! I know several people whose labor sped up after the epi- their bodies were just too tired to progress so once they got the little bit of rest, things happened. That's the exact reason I was open to one as well. Get some rest if you can And good luck!

@Danizaur: I made progress sooooo much faster after my epi because I finally could relax. Hope it's the same case for you!

Good luck! Sounds like labor is going well. Having the epi relaxed me for transition and pushing. You're doing a great job. I can't wait for pics of fresh baby T!

@Danizaur: Getting rest is so important to a good outcome - you need strength for pushing! I hope you can take advantage of the epidural bliss to get a good long nap!!!

Get rest! My mom massaged my feet and calls during the epi to keep up circulation and I swear it helped a ton and I was walking after delivery!

Been napping. Dilated to a 4 now. Slow but he's definitely descended a lot more. With each contraction I can feel his head pushing down but no pain. Hopefully things will pick up soon. Back to napping now.

@Danizaur: My labor picked up quickly after I hit 5cm and got an epidural. I think the chance to rest and relax helped a lot!
So excited for you!!!
