@GreenThumb: that's a long wait! While I'd love to do a transfer in April, DH thinks we should see how many embryos we get before making a decision on whether we do another round to bank embryos and whether we try a transfer into me or if we don't get many, to go straight to a surrogate. If we get a good number, I'll do the $1800 worth of labs and come up with a plan to transfer one. I wish I knew the plan, but it all depends on how this cycle goes. RE says it could be anywhere from 2-6.
@NorthStar: hats off to you for doing that kind of driving, especially tax season. I think this is so hard and RE is 20 minutes away from the new house (where we are living during the week). Saying a prayer for good updates for both of us! I'm probably stimming 11-12 days, so ER might be the same time (I'm predicted for Thursday or Friday). I'm off Friday, but Thursday means one less day of this and less cost.

Just got home from my appointment and it went well. there were 6 follicles on the right and 10 on the left, so total of 16! I am completely amazed! I still have some lining to shed, so hoping that happens soon and they took blood for my estradiol levels; however, they don't call with the results. They only call if they change something with my meds, but as of now, they are keeping me on same dosages. They also only measure them once they hit 11mm and I did see one at 10mm, so at my next appointment on Sunday, I'm guessing we will have a few measurable follicles!

Day 8 report: 3-4 follicles on right (was 5), 5-7 on left (was 5). Said probably 7-10 eggs, but I forgot to ask if he meant mature or retrieved. He said they look really good, growth rate good. Probably retrieval Thursday which means I'll likely hear how many get to freeze on my birthday. Waiting on estrogen and really anxious to hear. I just ordered $750 more meds. I'm disappointed it wasn't more, but hopefully we will get a high yield due to the growth hormone. If we don't get good numbers, it's either another stim cycle to bank, a surrogate, or both.

@jaguar: thanks! How are you feeling and doing?!
@AmeliaBedilia: Sound pretty good so far! It's never fun buying more meds, but hopefully, this is the last of it! You go back Sunday, right?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: I go back tomorrow, then Monday and Tuesday. Estrogen 507! I start antagonist tonight, he's keeping me at the same dose tonight.

@NorthStar: @AmeliaBedilia: Great news ladies!! Next week will be an exciting week for sure. FX for great retrievals!!
@jaguar: Hope all is well with you these days!!

@AmeliaBedilia: oh wow! yay! what level do they want it at this point? wahoo!!!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: they want it to double every 48 hours. Mine was sluggish last time. Monday was 47 (I panicked), Wednesday it was 176.7, so it's going up nicely!
nectarine / 2192 posts
Estrogen only went up to 613 today. 5 good follicles on left, three on right and each side has three maybes, but he thinks fewer than 50% of those will be mature eggs. He estimated 7-10 mature eggs. I looked back at last cycle and that is what he estimated, but we increased Menopur and added growth hormone this time. I'm hoping his prediction is more accurate since he knows me better.

@AmeliaBedilia: Yay! Glad to hear your E is cooperating better this time! FX so tight for you,
@NorthStar: Wow, hello there follies! Hope your getaway was fun and scan tomorrow goes well! FX for steady progress!
@GreenThumb: @PurplePumps: Thinking of you ladies while you're in the waiting game. It will all start soon!

@Amorini: Thanks! Not too long now!
@AmeliaBedilia: Glad to hear you had a good report yesterday. FX for a good one tomorrow, too!

@AmeliaBedilia: Hoping your appointment goes well this morning! Only a few more days left!!
AFM - had my appointment yesterday and had 6 measurable (over 10mm) and many smaller. Hoping they have time to catch up and continue to grow. However, I had fluid in my lining and if that doesn't go away, they will not do a fresh transfer. I looked online to try and find ways to get rid of it and nothing is guaranteed. Having several big O's (yeah, i know - lol), vitamin e and sudafed might clear up the fluid/mucous. I'm SO scared, though, because we didn't get any to freeze last time, so we aren't guaranteed to get any this around. Has anyone had experience with this? It doesn't seem too common, but the nurse says high estrogen can cause it.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: boo for the lining issues! I'm not familiar- my estrogen is always borderline low. I'm doing a freeze all since RE thinks that will help "uterine receptivity." I hope you get to go ahead with the fresh but there have been a lot of frozen success on here.
My scan was good: of the 6 "maybes" that he estimated fewer than 50% would get there, 4 of them are now likely, 2 unlikely. This is in addition to the solid group of 8. He was happy. Im nervous about my estrogen since it didn't rise very well last time, and Friday to Saturday didn't go up much (though started cetrotide Friday night). Hoping for over 1200. Trigger probably tomorrow, retrieval Thursday.
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: I am sorry to hear about fluid in your lining and am really hoping it resolves for you so you can go ahead with a fresh transfer. No IVF cycle would ever be complete without a couple of hitches along the way, right?
@AmeliaBedilia: FX for a really god estrogen level for you today!! 12 follicles sounds great!
AFM: Meds should arrive this Thursday and then I start in with Lupron on Saturday morning.
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: @AmeliaBedilia: Thank you! Not too long after I wrote above, I had a big bleed (thank god for the panty liner I had on!) and I'm much more hopeful that perhaps, it has resolved itself. My next appointment is tomorrow morning
..@AmeliaBedilia: I'm hoping for good results on your estrogen today! It's so nice that they call you with numbers so that you are totally informed.
@GreenThumb: YAY! You will be starting soon!!! In a matter of a few weeks, you should be PUPO!

i'm so behind!
@NorthStar: i hope the lining issues work themselves out so you can continue as planned!
@AmeliaBedilia: those are great numbers!
@GreenThumb: yay for getting started on your next cycle!
I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs on BCP waiting for biopsy results

@NorthStar: Seriously hoping that everything resolved for you... sounds like it really might have!
@endymion4: Results should be coming for you soon, right?! FX for you that everything looks good and you can move forward.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@GreenThumb: @endymion4: @NorthStar: thanks. Estrogen only went up to 959.6. From 613 two days ago. I'm disappointed. Today (day 11) is when I triggered last time with estrogen of 1010 and only had 8 retrieved, 6 mature, 5 fertilized and 2 ok at day 3. I should trigger tomorrow. It was tripling the first couple times but didn't quite double in three days (507 3 days ago). I worry it's the same as last time, just inching up at the end.

Ugh... of course, medication that was covered last year for my prior FETs is not covered this year. I swear my insurance has me flagged in big letters as INFERTILE so they don't have to cover anything!! So I am trying to get my leuprolide and endometrin from WinFertility instead of Freedom saving over $120. I know FET meds are small potatoes compared to fresh cycles, but it was a little bit of a shock at having to fork out $550. And I have to scramble to make sure I get everything before Saturday so I can start the Lupron. I am just so sick of dealing with all of this!!
Also, just found out my friend who has been a gestational carrier in the past, just had her 3rd cycle fail for the family who she carried for back in 2012. I feel so bad for the family she was trying to help and I know she is really sad too. We were pregnant at the same time back in 2012, and while I know it isn't her child, I thought it would be fun to carry again together this time.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@GreenThumb: that stinks! I think my insurance has done this as well. I haven't done endometrium but I think some ladies were discussing a coupon for it.
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: oh dang! Yes, search for a $50 coupon for endometrin. Freedom will actually automatically give it to you and most times, you don't even have to ask. I actually found Freedom to be cheaper for the endometrin than Winfertility.
apricot / 344 posts
@GreenThumb: this is the link to the coupon
https://www.ferringfertility.com/hcp/paying/endometrin/
I'm surprised your insurance isn't covering. Mine was covered as a non-infertility drug. Is it the vaginal insert or in some other form?
pear / 1986 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: @NorthStar: @waiting4you: Thank you! I'm trying to see if I can get a prior authorization to have the Lupron covered (apparently I did have one that expired in September)... then I'll have to see about the endometrin and the coupon with Freedom.

I am about to lose my mind. Just got my biopsy results. Not enough sample sent. Are you fing kidding me????
So, my options are to skip doing it completely or Do it again (and I'm sure as heck not dropping another $1k of my own money for this option).
If I do the biopsy the biopsy again it could come back normal (in which case we could FET in may. Problem--my whole family is taking a trip together that has taken months to coordinate everyone's schedules and things are booked. So that pushes us to a July transfer (and recall we're doing this transfer before moving on to new local RE bc she won't take my frosty). If thy doesn't work, we're looking at a September retrieval with new RE. Original plan if it didn't work this April was to go on our trip, take the summer off as a break physically and mentally and retrieval in August. IF biopsy comes back iffy, we have to do another biopsy and that pushes everything even more. And it's not just money/time, it's also taking all the meds again and, more importantly, coming off meds which is another 1-2 weeks of migraines.
I'm just really frustrated right now.

Also I don't know if any of that made sense. I'm hiking with my kid and trying not to cry
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: I'm really sorry about the biopsy! I wonder if you could just go ahead with the April transfer of the frosty and hope for the best. If things don't work out, could you do the biopsy again right after and then get fresh start with the new RE like you planned later in the summer? Sending a big hug!
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: thanks! will be talking to RE today hopefully to make a plan! (yesterday just spoke to the nurse). if nothing else, i at least want a refund on that first one to put toward the transfer!
pear / 1881 posts
@endymion4: OMG!! It was the biopsy on the embryo, right? (Attempting to keep everyone straight ). No matter what you do, you should definitely get your money bank! What a waste of time and $$. I hope they can work with you to find the best path.
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: oh no, I'm so sorry the estrogen isn't going up as expected. Will you have another appointment this morn??
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: Keep us up to date. I can't believe they didn't get enough to sample. You definitely shouldn't have to pay for something they couldn't even process.
pear / 1881 posts
Just had my appointment: 7 measurable and 10 smaller. She said a few might get there. Retrieval likely this weekend. Best part? Fluid in lining is gone!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@endymion4: that's terrible about the biopsy. I hope they give you a refund!
@NorthStar: yea for better lining! I was praying hard for that! Does your clinic typically do ER on weekend? Mine is Wednesday-Friday.
Scan went well. He estimated 8-10 mature eggs, up from 7-10 Saturday. Waiting on estrogen but he isn't really concerned about it- says it's going up and doesn't have to double. The plan is to trigger tonight and also do two Menopur, the rest of my follistim, and the final dose of growth hormone. I had a dinner event I wanted to go to, and if it were just the HCG, I could sneak to the bathroom, but four shots is a bit much. I also got a few good laughs out of my RE, which was nice. Please send prayers for lots of good eggs!
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: thank you for the prayers!! They worked Yeah, they do retrievals 7 days a week, so at least I don't have to worry about that. I'm more concerned about running out of my meds if I stim past tomorrow. Additionally, driving back and forth is annoying and makes it hard to get my hours in. So, hoping that the retrieval isn't any later than Saturday so that I can at least work a full day on Friday.
sounds like everything is going great for you and your RE is very positive! So, retrieval will likely be on Thursday?! yay!!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: yes, Thursday at 8. I can't imagine driving so much. We're 10 minutes from the old house and 20 minutes from the new house. I haven't had to miss work except obviously I will Thursday. I'm waiting on the official call, but trying to finds vague reason that's good enough for short notice. I'll offer to work Friday (my day off) and see whether they prefer that or to actually take a day off. I don't know if I want to use "family emergency" or "medical procedure." Let me know if you have other ideas!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: I was required to do stim meds for an extra day than was originally planned. My RE nurse gave me the extra meds that I needed. So tell your RE nurse asap that you are running out of meds because she may have some. Also check the pharmacy that you order from because they may do same day fed-ex shipping. Good luck! You girls are all getting so close!
@AmeliaBedilia: Good luck with your retrieval! Can you tell your work that you are having a plumbing emergency at your new house?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: winfertility will overnight meds for free if you have ordered and paid by 4:00. I ordered meds Friday 3:00 and they arrived Saturday morning.
apricot / 365 posts
@NorthStar: No--this was the biopsy of the lining, it's called an ERA biopsy and is supposed to test for lining receptivity. So you do all your meds as if you're going to do a transfer, but on transfer day they do the biopsy instead of a transfer.
Yay for the fluid being gone, that's great!!
@AmeliaBedilia: good luck! prayers sent!
