    RE update.
My lining looks spectacular and blood flow to the uterus and tubes looks great. There was no change with the largest follicle and it is expected to start shrinking (* no longer the dominant follicle), next two largest are 12 MM. All follicles in RT ovary have shrunk and are around 8 MM. LH is still reading Low. BBT shows no shift.
I will return to the RE in 2 days for another U/S to monitor and see if this is headed towards an ovulatory or anovulatory cycle.

@Kaohinani: mother lover! This cycle is purely monitoring without interventions, right? I hope that your left ovary gets it together for you by Thursday.

@Sams Mom: Unfortunately, it is only a monitored cycle due to the snafu with my insurance and their initial denial of my injectables meds. Next cycle may be medicated with an IUI. The nurse did say that MOST woman do not have 12 MM follicles by CDs 6,8, or 10 so as long as my lining looks fabulous and my LH strip is still reading low, I could still be in the game. The other nurse said consistent early OV (CD 8-11) is not "perfect" for fertilization as the ovum may not be fully mature and the lining may be too thin (* Duh ... what have I been worried about for months? Just that!) and then she rushed me out of the U/S room since there were other ladies waiting.
The consensus between the nurses, techs, and myself is that it is a 50/50 split on whether this will end up ovulatory by CD 14 or altogether an anovulatory cycle. Not odds I'd bet with in Vegas. Lol.

Transfer was uneventful. Officially PUPO. Plan to take it easy for the rest fo the day. Any Netflix recommendations?

@yellowbeach: Amazon prime: Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Netflix: Mind Hunter (totally opposite spectrums) if you have Starz and haven't watched yet Outlander is in season 4 and it's as amazing as the books so far!

Scholarly articles and studies ๐Ÿค“ bc I am bored and freaking out now over the possibility of ANOTHER failed cycled. (* Because this one is monitored, it is like watching a trainwreck in slow motion. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ What happened to the feeling of empowerment and excitement I had last week?!?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜’)
ANYWAY, I thought I would share today's "reading list" for anyone as geeky and curious as me:

@yellowbeach: This! I have had a vague feeling of being inferior to my friends who have children for the past...six years or so. It's so frustrating! I don't think I understood at first what it was about, but I just felt they are better than me. I still do.

Also I'm happy your transfer went well. This one will stick!

I think O was yesterday...? Not sure though, it's a bit early for me(cd12). I've had ewcm since monday (cd11) and the new batch of OPKs arrived yesterday so I took one and it looked pretty positive. I'm sure the next days will tell, but I was hoping O would be today, if it really was yesterday we would have hit only O (and maybe O+2, we're not really up to doing it every day...) Not ideal.
I'll add my chart, not much on there yet.

This TWW is going soooo SLOW I'm only 4 dpo!

Question for you all: how long is your LH surge? Before I started taking metformin I would usually get a + at night and the next morning and by afternoon it would be negative again.
This cycle I had a solid three days of super positive tests. Maybe that's good thing?

  19. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@mrskansas: mine always seemed to last just 24 hrs.

Temps are up (thanks progesterone ๐Ÿค—). DH just left for a conference in Austin, so itโ€™s just me and DD til Sunday. Hoping to stay busy.

  20. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@mrskansas: unmedicated- I think mine is about 24 hours, medicated with progesterone support - I think it might have been shorter or the same?, medicated without progesterone it was like 2 to 2 1/2 days

  21. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@mrskansas: I think mine is usually 2 days but when I got pregnant this time (but not every time Iโ€™ve gotten pregnant) it was like 3.5/4 days!

@Kaohinani: What time is your appointment tomorrow? Any sense when your next appointment after tomorrow will be?

  23. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: Had a crazy-busy morning filled with appointments with specialists - DS attended his 1st appt with his new SLP, then I made a quick stop at my neurologist to pick up papers for a referral, and finally had my appt at the pain mgt clinic. FUN STUFF. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Heading home now. ๐Ÿš—
--> To respond, I go to the RE bright and early (8 am) tomorrow. If they ask me to return for further monitoring, it will be Saturday morning. I am kind of freaking out because my OPKs are beginning to pick up some color. Even with an adequate lining (for once) and decent blood flow tracked; my subpar follicles (*All under 15 mm as of yesterday) will not lend to successful fertilization and/or implantation. ๐Ÿ˜• I really hope tomorrow affords me "some" good news.

P.S. And, yes, I did have my OPKs in my purse and YES, I did ask for an extra sample cup at the PM office when they took my urine sample for drug testing so I could test my OPK. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ They all got the biggest kick out of me for that. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜‚

  24. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@mrskansas: Your current cycle sounds much like my cycle before my last. I usually have 1 or 2 pos OPKs (afternoon and evening) and by morning, it is lighter. My wonky "OPK cycle," I was not certain if it was an actual surge or if I was keying up to OV but never did. After a day of a near-pos, 2 positive OPK days, and another nearly positive, FF determined I OVed on the 2nd day of my surge as that was the highest rise in my BBT as well. I hope you OV soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคž

  25. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@paranundrum: I'm glad your OPKs made it in time. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ Good luck and high hopes that you had a strong ovulation and this could be your lucky cycle that leads to a BFP.

  26. Kaohinani

So, I've been reading on sperm toxicity with transvaginal ultrasound lubricant and I am starting to think I may bring Pre-seed with me tomorrow for my scan. I couldn't get in touch with my aunt or her wife (one is a physician and the other an xray/us tech) to verify but it appears if you are ovulatory during a scan and BD, it dramatically reduces sperm count. I have an U/S tomorrow and my OPKs are "near positive" tonight so, I guess, I will err on the side of caution. @Yellowbeach, @Sams Mom, @Lazb, @MsKansas, @Paranundrum, @ladies of January POAS - What do think ... Am I being obsessive-compulsive here or is it sound logic since I have smallish follicles and have been TTC for soooooooo d*mn long?

  27. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I get where it could be problematic. I never thought of it, but they slather that bad boy with lube, so there is plenty left behind I'm sure. I wonder if a fertility clinic might make sure to have sperm friendly lube though since they're seeing people that are obviously trying to get pregnant. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@Sams Mom: Thanks for responding so I don't feel SO crazy. ๐Ÿคช Many fertility clinics use Aquasonic gel. I called my clinic but they have yet to return response and I have to be there at open of business at 8 am. I am thinking I will bring it and deal with the crazy looks. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ Not like I am not already used to them, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฃ

@Kaohinani: I can only imagine what level of crazy lady is actually "normal" for an RE ๐Ÿ˜‚ you should be safe (at least on the weird looks)

Speaking of weird looks ๐Ÿ˜‚ one of the guys I work with has boys that are older than Sam. Well he reaps the benefits of that on a semi regular basis by getting toys and clothes. Well, he brought in this giant T-Rex toy for Sam, and it kept tipping over, so I seatbelted it in. I got LOTS of weird looks at stoplights today ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Kaohinani: not sure about the US gel... never gave it much thought from a personal or a professional standpoint. We donโ€™t really get a choice at work. ER only has one kind. But I wouldnโ€™t be put off if a patient asked that we use what they brought. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ ETA: unless of course it was glittered or flavored for his/her pleasure. Yeah, I'm just thinking of bringing good ol' standard Pre-seed ... no "fancy" stuff, scented stuff for my pleasure, glittery stuff, or sparklers โœจ to illuminate the exam room. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜† My TTC/ART adventures are not THAT "adventurous" in the least. ๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜‚
