@ballerinabee: Still hanging in there holding out?
I thought I took my last progesterone pill last night and might have to bow out and test early just in case...but I suck at math so I have one more night of it.
Is it Friday morning yet?
pear / 1881 posts
@Bea: Agreed lol Although, that may be us next week. I'm itching to test, but I'm only 8DPO. I need to wait until Monday, at the earliest.
kiwi / 578 posts
@NorthStar: me too! I'm 9 dpo (possibly only 8) but keep thinking...maybe??? hahahaha you'd think we would have learned by now right?

@MaryM: My Mom decided to misbehave medically last night, so Dad and I spent the night in the ER with her (she was admitted) and so didn't get home until 4, and my 2 year old got sick at 5, so I didn't get any sleep let alone think about testing this morning. Ha.
I need to whine for a minute, so I apologize in advance.
Yesterday and today have been lousy. LO was sick just before 6 am yesterday, and then again this morning around 5. But he's FINE during the day and has had no fever, just vomiting and diarhhea randomly in the wee hours of the morning. Then yesterday I got hit by a co-worker on my way to work and found out hours later that he lied to his insurance and said that I hit him. Apparently, the way insurance works in MD, if there isn't clear cut evidence, they just deem it "no fault". So now I'm out $500 for my deductible and have to take vacation time to take my car in to be fixed & pick up a rental because I work with a grown man who can't take responsibility for his own actions. Then my Mom spiked a fever and was vomiting all day yesterday (couldn't even keep sips of water down), so after talking to her surgeon on the phone, we took her back to the hospital. And finally (hopefully) to add insult to injury, AF showed up an hour ago with a vengeance. I felt a "pop" while going to the bathroom, and it is awful. Rapid onset cramps and all.
So, I scheduled my CD3 repeat labs and ultrasound for Saturday morning. No miracle post-HSG BFP for me. Womp womp.
And DH keeps forgetting to schedule his repeat SA+wash. I may kill him. Though that would not help me with getting pregnant... HA.
<thus ends my pity party for 1>
Crossing my fingers and toes for the rest of you this month! We need some happy news!

@ballerinabee: O.M.G. ...that sounds horrible!! I'm so sorry that all that hit you at once!
pear / 1881 posts
@ballerinabee: oh man, what a day! Well, now that AF has come, I say that you deserve a glass a wine for dealing with all of that! ugh
I hear you on killing the husband. Mine was like that until I kept pestering him - repeatedly.
I hope that your mom and son start to get better..

Well, I'm spotting and my temp dropped, and I got a BFN.
I'm pretty sure this leaves me with unexplained IF (by the end of this next cycle, we'll be passed the date of the beginning of the first cycle of TTC)
apricot / 452 posts
@NorthStar: Definitely had some wine to go with my whine. Tee hee...
@MaryM: I'm so sorry, hon. Set up a meeting with your OB or an RE as soon as you can so at least you feel like you have a plan. At least for me, having a plan made me feel like I was doing *something* other than continuing to try what isn't working. <hugs>
Time to remind my husband to schedule his repeat SA again. My repeat CD3 labs & ultrasound are tomorrow morning.
@Bea: & @NorthStar: how are you ladies doing with the TWW?
Anyone have fun plans this weekend? My DH is a Ravens fan (I'm a Browns fan), so we're going to do something fun for the playoff games tomorrow, and we'll be visiting Mom in the hospital. Other than that, I have a LOT of laundry & household chores & DVRed tv to catch up on.
pear / 1881 posts
@ballerinabee: I'm glad that you got your wine!!
I'm hanging in there, but had crazy vivid dreams last night. In one, going to Costa Rica with our toddler and lost her in the airport. In another dream, a tornado at my old parents house. So weird..and yes, I know that weird/vivid dreams can be a symptom for some ugh - I have to hold out until Monday, though. I'm getting anxious and trying to feel hopeful! It's just hard when we have been trying this long..
pomelo / 5129 posts
@ballerinabee: I'm supposed to see my OB in Feburary anyway, so I think I'll plan it for around CD3 of my next cycle. For my annual, I went at 6dpo and was able to have that test run the same day, so I'll do that just in case he suggests CD3 testing (since we've already tried progesterone)
Our wedding band is playing the 9:30 club tomorrow so DH and I have a date night planned. And I think he wants to go shopping for our cabinets again since he got another quote yesterday that was WAY too much ($15K for a tiny townhouse...WTF???)...but then again, I'm not sure why he thought a contractor might be cheaper than ordering through home depot ourselves. But I have to let him do things his way sometimes, right?

I won't lie...my nerves are going crazy for my HSG, which is at 8:15 CST this morning. I know it will cause come discomfort, maybe even some dreaded pain, but that's not what's causing my nervousness. I'm always thinking the worst and thinking about the possible things they could find. Of course, if I end up with blocked tubes and that's the worst thing they find, I think I'll be OK because we've already planned for IVF. But I'm curious how I'll handle the frustration of TTC for 22 months all without luck because the sperm never met the egg. I think back on all of the stress, depression, marriage issues, weight gain, anxiety attacks, and becoming numb to many emotions caused by thinking about timing and the TWWs and the irregular periods and I fear I might feel some anger IF my tubes are blocked. Guess I'll find out soon...I'll check in after!

@sarahnicole218: I hope all goes well and if anything, you get answers! Will you take Advil beforehand? I think that's what I took to help with discomfort.
pear / 1881 posts
Well tested this morning at 12dpo and bfn I'll try not to get my hopes up and I know some get their BFP late.
I just need to decide that if I am not pregnant what to push with my ob for next steps. I'm willing to try one more cycle of letrozole, especially since it will be my third full cycle of acupuncture. I would really like a game plan, tho (iui, etc.).
@bea have u tested yet??

@sarahnicole218: good luck today! Sending clear Fallopian thoughts your way

@NorthStar: yesss...BFN and then AF showed up about an hour later. Bright side--clomid lengthened my LP. I can't remember the last time I had a 25 day cycle or a 12 day LP. So that's good. Still holding out hope for you, friend!
@sarahnicole218: you will do great!!
pear / 1881 posts
@Bea: oh no!!! But, it is good that Clomid is doing its job!! Are they monitoring your lining to ensure it isn't too thin (I heard that can happen on Clomid)? I couldn't remember if you were with your OB or an RE..that's my issue is that I'm with my OB still as I don't think that there is an RE in my town!
I'm trying to remain hopeful, but am not feeling pregnant. My only symptoms at this point would be 4 straight nights of crazy a&^ dreams!
persimmon / 1259 posts
@MrsKRB: @Bea: @MaryM: and @NorthStar: Tubes were clear...though my left tube has a corkscrew shape, which may mean that when I ovulate on that side, the egg doesn't come down in time or the sperm does not have an easy "road" to travel. All that being said, she was still open to scheduling an IVF consult because we fall into the "unexplained fertility" category and that even with clear tubes, it hasn't happened for us in 22 months, so this is a viable next step for us.
Our IVF consult is scheduled for February 4th, may be going on BCP right before that at the beginning of my next cycle. She said BCP for 2-3 weeks before starting the injections and what not. AHH! This wait for February 4th is going to feel long, but it also is such a relief to have a plan in place, we're moving forward with creating our little miracle!
nectarine / 2465 posts
@sarahnicole218: that's awesome that you can get the show on the road! Feb 4 will be here before you know it! How was the process? Mine is tomorrow, anything you recommend I do?
persimmon / 1259 posts
@MrsKRB: Well, not much you can do to prepare for the discomfort. I took 600mg of ibuprofen about 60 minutes before I actually had the procedure, per the request of the nurse (I think it helps relax the cervix too). I won't sugar coat it, it didn't feel great. I was in quite a bit of pain for a moment. All that being said though, the painful part of the procedure was VERY short lived, like probably less than a minute. The doc was great, the nurses were wonderful, they really do what they can to make you feel comfortable and walk you through what's happening. I feel ok now too, but glad I took the day off. Just a little tired and crampy. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do awesome!
apricot / 452 posts
@NorthStar: Those are some crazy dreams! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it was just too early to test, and if not, definitely talk to your ob about options. It's so frustrating to do everything right, timing-wise, and still fail to get pregnant month after month.
@MaryM: I hope the concert was fun! I've been to the 9:30 club once, several years ago to hear a band my husband loves. And WOW on $15k for cabinets for a townhouse kitchen. That's crazy!!
@Bea: I'm so sorry about AF, but yay for a longer LP! That's a step in the right direction. Hopefully Feb will be our month!
@sarahnicole218: It's good to feel like you have a potential reason that things haven't worked as of yet, but still frustrating. And yes, the waiting is miserable... Come on, February!
I had my CD3 repeat blood work and an ultrasound to look at follicles on Saturday. The nurse called yesterday to say that my blood work is all still perfectly normal (I had CD3 labs done in Sept also), but that I had far fewer follicles than they like to see. I had 3 on one side and 2-3 on the other for a total of 5-6. She said they like to see 10-20. I'm not sure what this means, and we still have more things that need to be done before our follow up with the RE (DH's SA, more blood work for both of us and a consult with MFM). DH's initial SA showed ok numbers, good motility, but not great morphology, so RE wanted a repeat SA with IUI wash to see what they'd get if we try IUI.
I'm so impatient. Just found out that DH's repeat SA will be next Mon (1/19), so we're knocking things off the list before we meet with the RE again. I just want to have a plan!
kiwi / 578 posts
@NorthStar: they are not. I'm with my OB. Will go back and meet with her in March and probably then sent to RE.
How is it going? When is AF supposed to show? Hopeful for you! Hope the dreams are a symptom!
@sarahnicole218: yay for clear tubes!!! February 4th will be here before we know it
@MrsKRB: good luck tomorrow!!!
@ballerinabee: I hope it's our month too!! It sounds like you guys are moving in a great direction! Hoping it is going to do the trick for y'all!

@Bea: I'm doing ok, but temp dropped this morning, so I'm assuming that AF will show up today or tomorrow. I'm frustrated, but my DH reminded me that acupuncture seems to be helping my progesterone levels, so to be thankful for that.
If AF does come, I'm going to ask the nurse what next steps are after this cycle. I'd like to get a game plan in place and make appointments, if needed. I'm just nervous as it doesn't' look like there is an RE in this town, so I'm not sure what options I will even have.
I don't think that I've had day 3 testing yet, so what does that entail or does anyone recommend certain testing? This is what we have had done and I'd like to push my OB for more: HSG, thyroid, progesterone and DH had an SA. All came back normal. I think that they will have me do another month of Letrozole/Femara, which would be our fourth cycle taking it and doing TI.
apricot / 452 posts
@NorthStar: here's the scoop on day 3 testing from the fertility center I'm going to:
The typical ‘Day 3 Bloods’ usually refer to the hormones E2, FSH and LH. E2 refers to estrogen, the main female reproductive hormone which is secreted from the ovary. FSH is the acronym for Follicle-Stimulating hormone. This hormone is released from the brain and stimulates the ovary to mature an egg. LH refers to ‘luteinizing hormone,’ which is integral in the final maturation and release of a mature follicle.
At the same visit that Day 3 bloodwork is drawn, we also perform a ‘baseline sonogram’/ultrasound, which will measure the ovaries, uterus and ovarian activity through an antral follicle count (AFC)... The blood levels show how ‘easily’ your brain and ovaries work to mature an egg each month and can give insight into the egg quality (or its diminished quality). The ultrasound images help to assess the anatomy of the uterus and ovaries. The antral follicle count helps assess ovarian activity.
http://www.shadygrovefertility.com/newsletter/what-day-3-testing
I also had AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) measured because of my age. AMH blood levels are thought to reflect the size of the remaining egg supply - or "ovarian reserve".
So in my CD3 tests, my blood work was all perfectly normal, but my follicle count was very low. I don't know what that means yet, but will let you know what I find out!
Hope that wall of info helps.
pear / 1881 posts
@ballerinabee: Thank you I'm not sure my OB would go to that level, but you know what, doesn't hurt to ask. I'm going to be 34 in May, so low reserve could always be a possibility. Thanks again for the insight..

HSG went well, everything looks perfect! It did hurt, but only for 5 seconds. Heres to hoping I get some HSG-luck next month!

I'm out, but it was expected with the temp drop yesterday. But, I'm still crushed.
It was made even worse with the fact that our daughter told daycare yesterday that she was getting a baby sister (a new baby just started at daycare and she loves this little guy). Cue the tears in front of the daycare lady this morning when she told me and tears from the daycare lady when I told her I wasn't pregnant (she knows that we've been trying for a long time). ugh - today is going to be rough.
apricot / 452 posts
@NorthStar: Oh, hon. I'm so sorry. My son tells everyone he wants a baby sister to live at his house, so I get the "oh, are you pregnant?" a lot too. IF / extended TTC sucks. It SUCKS. Can you do something nice for yourself today, as a pick-me-up? <<hugs>>
@MrsKRB: Glad the HSG went well! My fingers are crossed that you'll get some HSG-BFP magic!

@ballerinabee: Thanks My husband offered to bring over a yummy lunch, but I'm just not feeling it today. Perhaps tomorrow or Friday. Yes, it just plain ol' sucks and even my friends don't say the right things. At least I get understanding here and boy am I thankful for that!

@MrsKRB: YAY! I hope that it works for you too! I had a hysteroscopy right before I got pregnant with my first and I swear that is what made it happen.

Does anyone have anything fun coming up? I'm going to a concert with girlfriends next week, so I'm really looking forward to that.

@ballerinabee: I'm hanging in there. I haven't used OPKs yet this month and think I might see if I can keep that going and just see what happens.
I still need to schedule my FU appointment though. Hopefully I'll get that done this week so I have it on the books to look forward to.

@ballerinabee: Yay for a concert! Sounds like a blast!
Nothing too crazy here. The daycare lady gave me a card the day after my unexpected crying session with a gift card for me and the hubby to do dinner one night. She said that she would watch our daughter..so, might do that this weekend. I finished my last pill of Letrozole today, so should be ovulating next week. I just need to figure out this whole 'timed intercourse' thing as I'm not sure if we are timing it correctly, based on what the nurse said.
@MaryM: Good luck getting your appointment scheduled!

@NorthStar: aw that was really nice of her!
@ballerinabee: we skipped this cycle, so I'm just waiting for AF to get here on Saturday so we can get down to business! We are trying to plan a ski trip this weekend, and counting down the days until our beach vacation (28)! have fun at your concert! Who are you seeing?
