Next WTF appointment made for next month. I wasn't able to get in until CD 6 or 7 (was hoping to be closer to 3 in case they wanted to test that), but oh well.

Still hoping it can be an OMG appointment instead of a WTF one though!

@ballerinabee: so I'm at either 7 or 8 dpo and have been going crazy since 4dpo with weird cramps and other symptoms, like a really achy cramp that reached all the way over to my hip. Anyway, temp dropped a bit this morning and I started spotting.

I suppose it could be IB, because this is pretty early for AF even for me. My shortest LP was 9 days after international travel, it's usually 11 or 12.

Guess all I can do is wait it out, but can't help but feel pretty gutted I'm doing so much to lengthen my LP (diet, supplements, acupuncture, putting on weight to help my BMI) and it would suck to go backwards.

I wrote that last post on the train to work and by the time I got in, hi full blown AF.

Really, really gutted and trying not to cry at my desk. This LP was only 6-7 days which is not.good.

DH and I are scheduling a consultation with an RE but man, what else can I do to lengthen this cycle!?

@ballerinabee: Thanks for checking in! I'm 5dpo right now, expecting AF January31st I hate the timing of it because our IVF consult is February 4th, so we won't be able to start the BCP this cycle...at least I don't think so. I'm not planning to test this month because I am SO over seeing negative tests! But there is a chance, I guess...HSG was clear last Monday, and then I O'd Friday and we did BD O-2 and O. But after 22 months, I am not hopeful about a natural conception.

To those of you that had an HSG - was your AF that followed worse than normal? AF is due Sat and I'm super crampy already.

@sarahnicole218 @AmeliaBedilia @MrsKRB thanks ladies, yesterday was just a no-good-very-bad day, but I saw my acupuncturist last night and she told me not to worry... the short cycle is a sign that the treatment and herbs are working.... basically flushing out the old stagnant blood and bringing in the new fresh blood, hitting "reset" on my cycles. My friend practices in another state and texted me the same thing, that cycle changes after you first start treatment are totally normal and a good thing. Still stinks to have AF come in the height of the most hopeful week of the cycle, but the reason why is kind of fascinating.

Anyway to you all this month, I'll be a cheerleader for sure!

@MaryM: Did you decide to start OPKs, or are you holding out? Did you schedule your follow up?

@NorthStar: That's so sweet of your daycare lady! Love it! Let us know what you find out about the "timed intercourse". We definitely try to time ours around ovulation, but I'm not sure we do it right either (since we've been trying for almost 2 years, ha).

@MrsKRB: I'll cheer on AF for you then, so you can get back to business! Hopefully she shows on time and doesn't make you wait. The girls' concert night was to see Rise Against and Linkin Park. Unfortunately, LP's lead singer (Chester Bennington) apparently broke his ankle and they canceled the rest of their US tour. Looks like he's having surgery. One article I read said he performed in Indianapolis with his leg on a scooter / cart thing but it was too much, so they canceled the remaining tour dates. We're bummed, but we're going to go out for dinner and drinks anyhow.

I started my OPKs late (CD14), and am worried that we missed the surge this month. I have o'd late the last few months, so I didn't even think about starting like I usually do around CD11 or 12. I'm CD16 and nothing close to positive yet. We couldn''t BD until Tuesday because of DH's second SA on Monday (and he couldn't for 5 days leading up to that), and I wanted to wait until his supply built back up, so we didn't until last night. I hope we're not too late!

Last cycle we did a NTNP approach since I have an important event in September that being 40 weeks pregnant would be problematic. We didn't chart, but I always O the same day and we hit O-2. My period started a day late, and was shorter and lighter than usual (3 days). Yesterday and today I have been super tired- like 9-11 hours of sleep and still feeling tired., lightheaded, etc. I took a wondfo yesterday (not FMU) and BFN. I took my temp this morning and it was 98.33 (typical post-O temp) but almost 3 hours later than normal. I'm pretty sure I'm not, but feeling like there is just enough chance to make me crazy. I have a couple good tests, but don't want to waste them, and DH is gone all day. Please talk some reason into me.

  11. Miss Sarah

    persimmon / 1259 posts

@AmeliaBedilia: I went through some similar feelings at the beginning of this cycle, and I also caved, tested post-AF, and ended up with a BFN. I don't know what else to say except that you are not alone in holding on to that last string of hope, even though reason and common-sense say, "No way!"
As for me, I had that odd little bit of "what if...?" hope, but was not pregnant...confirmed at my HSG appt. and of course when I O'd 9 days ago. See what's up with your temp the next few days, but if they are back to pre-O temps, don't waste another HPT. HUGS!

@ballerinabee: I ended up caving in and using a couple OPKs. Only to figure out WTF was going on! Lol.

I had major cramps Friday night (like as bad as TOM). But I didn't get a positive OPK until the following day, so I'm assuming it was either a cyst or I was gearing up for O.

I do have a follow up scheduled for next month. I wasn't able to make it as close to CD3 as I wanted, but at least it's on the books.

  16. ballerinabee

@AmeliaBedilia: I know that 'holding out hope until the very end' feeling all too well. The cycle where I was 9 days late was the worst. I kept getting BFNs, but no AF. Torture. And I'm sorry about your SIL's news. It is so painful to hear, even when you love the person whose news it is. <hugs>

@MaryM: Ha! I almost didn't, but started on CD14. I O'd late again (CD19), so I did manage to catch it. We hit O-4, O-2 & O, so fingers crossed! I'm 2dpo now and trying not to think about it. Weird about the major cramps before the pos OPK. Our bodies are so cryptic with all of this! I wish we had some kind of computer with readings we could check to know what's going on.

We meet with MFM for a pre-conception consult on Friday (due to all of my complications with C, and because I'm AMA), so I'm anxious to hear what they have to say. Then we can meet with the RE again to make a plan if this cycle is a bust.

I'm a rollover and beginning an IVF cycle. I will always ALWAYS be a cheerleader on the 6 months+ thread, but most of my posts will probably be on the IVF and IF Check-In threads now. Love you ladies, can't wait to see more BFPs from you!!

I realize that we don't have a February board yet, but couldn't help but posting. I had my progesterone level done today and it was at 40! It was at 11 prior to acupuncture in October and has been 25 the last two or three cycles. I couldn't believe how much it jumped!

@NorthStar: That's awesome!! Do they think acupuncture is helping, or did you do anything else to boost it? I can't remember...

Cross posting! I posted this on the regular TTC and I meant to post this on these 6 months plus TTC thread. Oops, I might have depressed a lot of first time TTCers. Or open their eyes that some people don't get pregnant as easily.

So I've been away from these POAS threads but I'm happy to finally report that I finally got my first !!!!!!! It been a long journey over these past 3 years of TTC and happy that my IVF cycle finally got me pregnant! I still have quite a journey in front of me.
Those of you still waiting, I'm hoping you don't have to wait as long as me. Keep the hope! It might not happen the way we planned but one way or another you and I will have a baby in our arms.
Here is my test. It's 7dp5dt (7 days past 5 day transfer... Similar to 12 DPO.) This is my first test but a lot of IF users are saying its a dark line. We did transfer 2 embryos so fingers crossed the dark line means that I'm having twins! But I'll take one baby, too. I'll take triplets, too.
Next steps is to call my RE and ask if they can see me soon to get a blood test. I still can't believe I saw a this morning!!!

@bluestriped bee: This narrative about made me cry! I'm so happy for you! We have been trying for a year and a half for our second, but it's still a journey even if we already have one.

I'll keep following you and can't wait to hear if you have one, two (or eek! three) babies growing in there! Enjoy this moment!!

@ballerinabee: Didn't say..it just means that I might have released more than one egg. I'm still not feeling much in way of symptoms, although, did have some cramping last night.

How are you feeling? Itching to test

  27. ballerinabee

    apricot / 452 posts

@NorthStar: more eggs, more chances, right? Either way, it's great to see your levels come up!

And yes, I'm itching to test! I resisted this morning (9dpo) because I'm tired of seeing BFNs. I have a lot of symptoms, but I don't put any stock in them anymore after 3 BFN-but-symptom-full cycles last year... I'm trying to decide if I'm going to test tomorrow at 10dpo (I have 20 wondfo cheapies).

@NorthStar: I caved and tested this morning, 10dpo. BFN. Again. I'm honestly not sure why I torture myself anymore. 22 months in, I should know better. I have to have blood work drawn & do my 24 hour urine collection this weekend and then we meet with the RE to make a plan.

  33. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@ballerinabee: oh bummer I'm so sorry! At least you have a plan to meet with someone! I'm not even to that point and we've been trying for 18 months, I think. I lost count..

  34. ballerinabee

    apricot / 452 posts

@NorthStar: Can you get in to see the RE? 18+ months is a looooong time. Granted, we didn't get to the RE until we'd been trying for 20 months, but that was because DH was being stubborn and was convinced it would "just happen".

  35. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@ballerinabee: I'm having a 'what the heck' meeting with my OB if this cycle doesn't work. The problem I have is that I don't think that there is an RE in my town and I'm 2 hours from Minneapolis. Plus, I'm just starting tax season, so I'm not sure how I would even get down there, except on a Sunday, which wouldn't work Unfortunately, I'm kind of stuck. Depending upon how this cycle goes, maybe I'll try making an appointment in Minneapolis for April or something.

  36. BSB

    @MrsKRB: @raspberries: @ballerinabee: Thank you!

  37. ballerinabee

    apricot / 452 posts

@NorthStar: That really stinks that an RE is so far away from you. Maybe your OB would be willing to consult with the RE and do some of the interventions up where you are? That's so frustrating.

AF showed bright and early this morning, so I'm on to cycle 23 of TTC.

I can't get my freaking DH to go get his blood work done and the RE won't meet with us until all of the test results are in. I know he's stressed and busy with work, and he's 4 years younger than me, so he doesn't really GET IT, but I'm just at the end of my rope today. We're going to waste another cycle waiting for his stupid blood tests.

I'm having a hard time being positive today. Sitting at my desk crying, which is awkward.

  38. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@ballerinabee: oh hun, I'm so sorry! Do you work close to him? Would he let you make the appointment for him and then both go together and then do lunch to ensure that he does it! boys can be so frustrating some time..

It certainly isn't a fun place to be when you feel all alone It's ok to be sad - I just hope your husband realizes how much this affects you and does something to help move the process along.
