We didn't try to avoid any particular dates. We just tried and were ready for it to happen as soon as possible. Baby is due right near Thanksgiving. We don't care at all. Just happy to have one on the way.

We just started trying to make a baby when we were ready to make said baby. We didn't really have a goal due date, we just were ready. Once we found out her due date, though we were extatic. Everyone in our families has very late or very early in the year birthdays. Her due date is June 9th. It's perfect because it doesn't conflict with anything at all.

We started trying hoping to get pregnant in time for baby to arrive during summer because DH is a teacher and has summers off. Worked out better than we anticipated as LO is due in 3 weeks and DH gets to spend all summer at home with us.

We didn't start trying with a due date in mind. It was just the right time for us because we 'felt ready'.

We started trying when it felt right for us based on a lot of factors but I was hoping for, and got very lucky with, an early summer due date so I'll have the summer off for maternity leave. I would have been stressed and felt a lot more trapped in my house due to weather and illness if I had a winter due date.

Hubby and I are part of a bridal party so we didn't want to be KU prior then, but figured a month or two prior should be okay as I won't be showing. Now that we think about it, we wish we would have started earlier in hopes of getting a Dragon baby. Since we didn't conceive on our first try last month, no Dragon baby for us.

We started in January with the mindset that it would take us awhile after a recent doctor's appointment. Well that didn't happen and we are due the first part of October! If all goes well I get 12 weeks off and as long as she doesn't come too early I will get to come back after the new year!

I always wanted a Spring baby. Not happening. We're due January 7th just about the worst possible timing. I can't travel home for Christmas but I'll probably still be working and I'll be back at work just as the weather starts to get nice. I really can't complain too much since it took fertility treatment to get here so I'm just happy to be pregnant.

Didn't plan at all first time. Second time we waited until after a family trip to Disney World last October to really start trying, EDD is 9/16 so it worked for us.

Oh, and the great thing for me about being 37 weeks at Christmas is I have the perfect excuse to NOT spend it running all over the city visiting all our families! (divorced parents -- bleh!)
I'm making them all come to me. It's going to be the best Christmas ever!

we wanted a baby in the beginning part of the year because that's off season for my wedding photography. so we're so so happy that i'm due mid january!

ETA: my birthday, my sister and my SIL's birthdays are in january, so i'm not really worried about that!

We aren't TTC yet, but we are planning to start around 8 months before a big test that H will have in early June. As in, we don't want me to be 9 months pregnant when he goes to take the exam since he obviously can't have a cell phone, etc, there, and wouldn't be able to study with a newborn. So just avoiding that. And, if my little sister gets engaged and sets a date, we will make sure to not conceive 38-42 weeks before that to make sure I can be there, but I'm fine with being 8 months pregnant there.
Otherwise sure, we have times we think would be better or worse, but we will just see what happens.

Our ideal time would be to get pregnant in January 2013 so that we have the baby in September-ish. That would mean I am only 6 months prego for my brother's wedding in Hawaii (I should still be able to travel at 6 months, right?) and will have been practicing law for 5 years (don't want to have a baby too soon, and 5 years seems like a nice round number). And, we want our kid to have an early in the academic year birthday so that they're slightly older in his/her class. I would also prefer to be most pregnant when I can wear loose-fitting summer clothing.

But, when it's all said and done, I would be happy with any time of year... it would be awesome to take maternity leave during the summer when it's nicest here in Seattle... or during the end-of-year holidays.

Hehe we didn't think about avoiding or aiming for any dates at all but it did work out that we got married in September and I will give birth in June Now that I think about it I would hate to be super pregnant in the summer and I have already been super pregnant in the winter so spring has been working out wonderfully

We didn't plan for a specific month, but I'm secretly hoping it happens sooner rather than later because being in my third trimester during the Florida summer sounds horrendous. We did have to wait until I would be due after January 1, because my short-term disability won't pay out maternity benefits until then.

We didn't plan, but the timing worked out well. The baby is due in the beginning of December, which is between holidays but not in the worst winter months. And I won't be hugely pregnant during the hot summer months.

It will be nice to cozy down and hibernate with the baby while we get used to things!

I want a baby before September...the school cut off time! One less year of daycare/preschool expenses!

@AutumnLove: DH were just so happy to be able to conceive that I wasn't shooting for any date/month in particular. But, when I found out I am due the first week in September, my first thought was, "I just missed the September 1 cut off!" I could go a little early though, we'll just have to wait and see.
