Just waiting for AF to show up and/or to start treating my likely PCOS next week. CD63.

Calling all seasoned charting professionals/baby-making aficionados,
Today is projected O day, CD 16, good right? Well I woke up this morning, logged my temp and to my surprise, FF gave me cross hairs 3 days ago. I have been doing OPKs since CD11 and although there have been lines all over the place, none have been remotely positive....including the THREE I did yesterday.
Anyone have any hunch as to what's going on? What do I trust, temps or OPKs? Oh and to make things even more confusing, now I have the 'maybe' dotted cross hairs the second time I pulled up FF.
Oh dear... I'm a Newbie.
pomelo / 5132 posts
@PEAPIE: FWIW, I never actually got a positive OPK, but I got my crosshairs on FF. I'm 17 weeks pregnant tomorrow, so don't stress about the OPKs!
OPKS cannot confirm O--they just predict when you *might* O based on your LH surge. Temps don't predict O, but they confirm them.

@PEAPIE: I would keep using the OPK but there is a chance that you just missed the "surge" on the OPK if you did not test at the right time.

@PEAPIE: Can you share your chart? I think that will help give us a better idea. There was one month where I got a near-positive and did in fact O, so its definitely possible to miss your surge.

@Mrs.Someone: good idea! Here she is:

Thanks for the advice y'all. Like I said... Newbie here!

@PEAPIE: Hmm, thats a tricky one. Its possible that FF is right, but I'm not sure. Is this your first month tracking when you O? You might just have to wait and see what it does for the next few days...

@doxielove No negative thoughts here! Hope that everything goes well for your upcoming POAS!! Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you!
@auntieem I am always generally confused when it comes to cramping. I tend to cramp and bloat and overall feel awful whenever I am stressed out or over anxious. I have only just begun to figure out the different symptoms since I am choosing not to chart, or do OPKs at this time. I think that just keep positive thoughts so you don't develop unrelated symptoms that will misguide you. Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you as well!
All positive energy going everyone's way as June starts rolls in...

@Mrs.Someone: Yep, first month charting - second cycle post BCP. So I'm just beginning to figure out how complex and wacky my body is! Its kinda cool though! Thank you for investigating!

@PEAPIE: Are you temps taken at the same time each day? Did you wake up earlier and then temp with only a little bit more sleep? Was there anything else that may have caused a temp spike? I know mine sometimes is higher/lower based on the weather. My OPKs are generally almost positive leading up to the positive but then post-O are almost blank! Maybe keep temping and using OPKs for another couple of days to confirm?
nectarine / 2134 posts
FF said EOD was CD 15 (5/24), so I'm now in my first official TWW! O on CD 15 (as opposed to CD 13 last cycle) will probably push my POAS day to June 7. Excited and nervous! PS my Hubby keeps asking me whether we're pregnant and if I've POAS yet -- I think he's more anxious/excited than I am

So I ended up taking another OPK last night and it was positive...and then again this afternoon I took another out of curiosity...positive! So I've had 3 days of + OPK (Mon, Tues, Weds). This really is a weird cycle for me.

Hi all, I've been lurking for a month or two, but here it goes!
Current Cycle Day: CD9
Ovulation Date: CD 18-20, FF says June 8
POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: My cycle has been about 28 days, but I never get to actually POAS with my late O/short LP. This is also the 4th month off BC where I never got AF
Cycles trying: Cycle #2, with two post BC months before that that we were kind of trying, but more learning how to temp
BD timing: EOD
For Fun: What's your favorite summer activity? Hanging out on Cape Cod with the fam

@AuntieEm: Are you sure they're 100% positive and not veryclosebutnotquite positive?
@HazelEyes: Welcome! Lots of us here in the post-BC club Have you had 4 months straight without AF?
honeydew / 7463 posts
@LindsayInNY: Yes, definitely. I've been using wondfos as the 'pre-test' and when they were pretty clearly positive I confirm with Clearblue Digital. The first day (Monday) I wasn't 100% sure about the wondfo but I confirmed with digital anyway and got the smiley. Yesterday and today the wondfo turned almost instantly darker than the control line. Yesterday I confirmed with a digital as well but today since the wondfo behaved exactly like yesterdays I didn't bother with a digital.
Wondering if maybe since Monday's wasn't super dark instantly it was JUST beginning and it was barely enough to get picked up on the digital. But yesterday and today are the 'high surge'?
Also since I added the 3rd + OPK to FF it is now saying O is estimated between 15th and 17th. Prior to today it was estimated between 14th and 16th.
Who knows, guess we should BD tonight for good measure
clementine / 811 posts
@LindsayInNY: thanks! No, I've had AF since being off BC, I just meant I never had AF when I was on it. It had been years, so I'm getting to know what's "normal" for me
apricot / 344 posts
@LindsayInNY: Everyday at 5:30a (Even on the weekends! I have two pups who are hungry for breakfast - acting as a natural alarm clock!) I have no idea re: the temp spike. And now my OPK is looking super pale (the past few days it was medium, not quite bold) So who knows, maybe I did O, maybe I didn't... We shall see... I'll watch my temps. Thanks for your input and advice! Good luck to you!
@NorCalWayfarer: Finger's crossed for a quick TWW!
nectarine / 2134 posts
@PEAPIE: We also have two doggies that wake me up at 5:30am every morning for pee break and to start begging for breakfast. At least they act as my natural alarm clock so I can record temp at the same time every morning! And good luck this month!

@AuntieEm: Maybe you caught the very beginning AND end of the surge which is why you got multiple +s?! Either way, get some more BDing in!
@HazelEyes: Oh really?! You never had it while on BC?
@PEAPIE: Maybe you missed the surge in order to get a + OPK? I know mine get very light, almost white, post-O so that could be what's happening with yours!
clementine / 811 posts
@LindsayInNY: Nope. Never. My doctor told me she had a lot of patients that barely or never got it on this pill! I was worried about coming off it and having crazy cycles, but so far so good.
@LovelyPlum: thanks
Does anyone else never get to POAS bc of late O? Do I need to worry about that? I have only gotten to 9 or 10dpo and then AF.

So, this morning I had a 2nd temp spike. The past 7 days my temps have been flat, and now at 8dpo a temp spike!? C'mon body, don't get my hopes up!! http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/doxielove
@HazelEyes: I have a short LP, too (only 9 or 10 days). I've heard that 10 is the bare minimum to be able to get pregnant, but I guess I've been holding out hope that as my body regulates from coming off BCP that it will lengthen. I've heard that B6 or B complex can help to lengthen it - so far neither has worked for me.

Still no temp spike this AM. Bummer! I accidentally took it an hour early but when I saw the time I went back to sleep. Literally woke up, took temp, saw clock and back to bed. It was 97.9. An hour and some change later it was 98.8. I prob can't use that right? I guess waking up cause my temp to rise?
I have no idea when or if I'll POAS!

Hi! I've been stalking these boards for a while and thought I'd finally join. Here's my info:
Current Cycle Day: 31
Ovulation Date: 5/18/13 (CD 17 according to my DuoFertility monitor)
POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: Cycle lengths are usually 30-31 days so I should either start my period tomorrow or POAS.
Cycles trying: I've been off BC since Oct. 2011 but we've been really trying since Nov. 2012 so Cycle #7 and our first with Clomid
BD timing: AM and/or PM just depends on our mood
For Fun: What's your favorite summer activity? Wine tasting and picnicking to live music at Malibu Wines (might have to rethink this if we ever get our BFP!)

@doxielove: I've heard that too... but with my prenatals, it seems like overkill to have even MORE B vitamins, no?
persimmon / 1388 posts
@HazelEyes: I'm not a doctor, but from the little research I've done, it seems the general consensus is 100mg is the recommended daily max. I guess it would depend on how many B vitamins are in your prenatal? I take 50mg B6 in addition to my prenatal (which I believe has 2.5mg B6).
clementine / 811 posts
@doxielove: haha, I know and I appreciate the feedback! And that was really helpful, so thank you. My prenatals have 15 mg of B-6 (which says 750% which confuses me as to how much is too much). I had two 9 day LPs and last one was 10, so maybe I'm still regulating after BC or maybe I should supplement with more B.

@AlmostMrsG: yay, welcome! Good luck! And your first post, too. Much baby dust to you

Thanks for the warm welcome! And AF has appeared so if my cycle is the same this month, my new POAS date is June 30th.

I've been surprisingly calm and patient through the first half of the TWW. Hopefully I can stay the same for the second half. One week til POAS!
honeydew / 7463 posts
Still no temp rise. Now I'm legit concerned. Wondering if I should call my doc considering my history of miscarriage? I try not to self diagnose or obsess but maybe I have low progesterone?
Just thinking "out loud" here. Hubby would think I was being paranoid.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@mrs. 64: Yipee! Keep up the calm, can only be good for you! That's what I have to work on, ha.

Took a test yesterday because I was anxious. It was negative no clue when I'm ovulating since I just got off BC. Started temping this AM and plan to use OPKs to make sure. I was talking to DH last night and we were looking back on when I got pregnant with DD and he swears I was ovulating on CD9. Is that even possible?
nectarine / 2134 posts
@Mrs. 64: Good luck with the next week of waiting. We're POAS date twins so I feel ya! Eeek!
persimmon / 1116 posts
@luckypenny: Hmmm idk. Its a stretch I think. Maybe if your cycle was really short? I just dont know how your body could prep it self for O in that short time period.
