@MrsMcD: I was fine to drive afterwards. It was no worse than a pap smear.

I ordered the conceive plus- it should be here tomorrow (CD11). It is so nice when CD matches up with the day of the month. I usually O on CD15, but it might change due to the progesterone. (Last month, the first month after starting progesterone, I O'd CD16. Plan is to hit at least EOD starting tonight.

@AmeliaBedilia: I hope you like it!!
My husband is in NY on a business trip until Friday. I'm 7dpo today and, of course, symptom spotting like the crazy lady I am. I might test Friday morning, just for fun, so if it's +, he can come home to some good news. I would ask you all what you thought, but I already know you're a bunch of POAS enablers!

@Keppa: Hugs!
9dpo today, trying to wait until 12dpo to test (Saturday). Really trying not to get my hopes up.

@mrs. tictactoe: I prefer to test when my hubs isn't home. So I say test!
@Keppa: I hope it stops.
@MrsStar: You must hold out!!

Well it has been a while since I have posted but I am now on CD 62 and I heard yesterday that all my blood tests were negative. Today I'm calling back to see what the next step is.

@Keppa: Not out... both @sandy and I had spotting at 7 DPO and got our BFP at 9 DPO. Fingers crossed!

@littlek: I just realized it has been two months today since the start of my last cycle. Hopefully my doctor has an opening today and I don't have to wait longer to get answers.

Hey ladies! I'm out of town this week, but I wanted to pop in and say hello!
I haven't used my thermometer or looked at FF at all- it's been nice to have a break! DH and I even had sex *just for fun* last night :gasp:
Happy birthday to @dcyogabee and @mrsmccarthy!

Hello All! I am on CD4 and have stopped bleeding. My question to you all who have used OPKs is should I start peeing on them now or wait until later? I got the cheapie brand so I have a lot to use...
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@ctegge0416: I *think* the standard practice is to start at CD10 if you don't know when you O. If you do know, then you can start testing 3-4 days ahead of O or when you start to see your CM change from creamy to watery/egg white. I, for example, always O at CD17-18, and usually start to see fertile CM around CD12... I start using OPKs at CD14, and see a darkening trend until CD16 or CD17, when I get a +.
As long as you are using the cheapies, you might as well start around CD10, and when you see the lines start to darken, start testing 2-3x/day to be sure you catch your surge. That's kind of overkill, in my opinion, for women with predictable cycles, but it will likely take you 2-3 cycles of using OPKs to get the hang of what testing method works best for you. (Although let's hope you don't get to see 2-3 more cycles... )

@Crystal: Yay! That's doubly exciting.
@Marfi: I am so sorry. I hope that you are able to get in with your doctor today.
@littlek: Awesome - thank you! I started doing that when I first created the list and it was so overwhelming I had to stop.
Attention lurker graduates - please feel free to add yourself and your EDD or give us a shout out to add you!!
@MrsMcD: and @mrs. tictactoe: ME TOO! Especially since I am not allowed to tell him until after I have missed AF... it's way better to test when DH isn't home - you can take all the time you want to squint, angle the test, etc. Not that I have ever done that.
@Keppa: ((hugs))
@MrsStar: You are a much stronger woman that I.

@septca: Unfortunately I'm not able to. I won't even be able to get in this month. My doctor referred me to an Ob/Gyn that I can't see until July 17th. This is going to be a long month...

A conversation with *D*H this morning got me thinking... I assume all of you, like me, kind of control the TTC process in your house. Tracking your cycle, using OPKs, deciding when to BD, etc. Now close your eyes and think for a minute: What would TTC look like if your husband were in the driver's seat? What would look the same/different? How would your chances look each cycle?
nectarine / 2173 posts
@septca: that's a good question...there probably wouldn't be OPKs and temping and just more regular BD. however, he does ask me when I'm going to O so we can make sure to BD on the right days (our schedules can vary quite a bit, sometimes I work nights), so I'm not wuite sure what it would like. He's also an engineering type, so he likes data as much as I do

@septca: Thank you! I think that is a great idea that I start CD10 to make sure I don't miss it this month. I will also keep an eye on my CM.
clementine / 794 posts
@septca: I wish it were sooner, by the time I get in, if AF doesn't show up beforehand I will be nearing 100 days since the start of my last period.

@Crystal: thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying a break. We had non BD sex on my birthday and it was so nice!
@Marfi: oh I hope you get some solid answers and something to bring on AF so you can start the baby making process again. 2 months! Egad!
@septca: I shudder to think but then again my husband can be surprisingly on top of things when it's expected of him. I just would hate to relinquish control.
Wish me luck ladies! I have my appointment in 2 hours to find out the results of my ultrasound and tests. I'm very nervous and praying I am not told of any new fibroids (particularly in my uterus) and that none of them have grown.
Oh and I have a question: do any of you know if anovulatory cycles tend to be shorter and lighter? I am having a much lighter period than normal and I'm wondering if its because I didn't ovulate last month. I'm on day 3 and its so light it's like spotting, day 2 was light but more than spotting and day 1 was heavy with very nice healthy color. Sorry if this belongs on a TMI board. I'm just curious because usually my friend is very heavy.
honeydew / 7295 posts
Hooray! Just got back from my DR and its all good news! She said they found three fibroids but all were outside the uterus and were no bigger than a pea! Phew! She said they also saw a cyst forming for ovulation (which is a good thing) and showed that my body was doing things for sure. My thyroid and endometrial biopsy were all normal and I'm not anemic though she did say my iron stores were 30 and they like to see 50 so I may try a supplement. She said to chart and see if my LP resolves itself within 3 months and if not we will go back in and do more testing and possibly try clomid or something else. I'm feeling really good. Still a bit nervous about my tubes having a blockage or something that she couldn't have found at this point but I suppose we will just give that a few more months.
Hope you ladies are doing well.

@mrs. tictactoe: @septca: @MrsMcD: I always test when DH isn't home too. I think hed go crazy if he knew all the tests I was taking.
@septca: it would be no testing, no OPKs, no temping, just BD All. The. Time. Possibly multiple times a day.
Poor DH really has no idea what all goes into this. When we first started trying, he thought you could find out whether or not it "worked" within a few hours. When I laughed and said it took much longer than that, he thought it would take a month to find out. He gets it now, but there was a definite learning curve.
@MrsMccarthy: I'm glad to hear it's good news!

@MrsMccarthy: that's good news! I hope next cycle us your cycle!
I need info on temping. I obviously had a problem with my OPK's (and having positive tests for 7 days and counting) I would like to track with my temps as well. Any tips?
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@intotheocean: How do you mean? For next cycle? I definitely recommend getting a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility for the full shebang, but Fertility Friend also has a really good tutorial. My tips: temp internally, start as soon as AF is over and go until the end of your cycle, use OPKs and track CM in conjunction with temps.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@intotheocean: Have you thought of using ditigal OPKs? I feel like those little stips cause a lot of girls problems.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@ctegge0416: I agree with starting on CD 9 or 10, since this is your first time. If you find that after a few months you are getting positives on or around the same day, then you can cut back to just a few OPKs a month. Makes it a lot easier.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Crystal: Thank you sweetie. Hahah your husband is so cute.
@intotheocean: Aren't you the sweetest! If you have money to invest Fertility Monitors can take the guess work out as well. I got mine gently used on Ebay. Ive never used digitals but those might be worth looking into too although ive heard you ahve to use them early or they don't work right. Not sure personally how they work though. I hope this is your cycle too. i know a girl who got three positives before her BFP and she also had a short LP like mine before that so there is always hope. As for temping I agree that vaginal temps and a read of taking charge of your Fertility will help. Good luck!
I feel so much better now that i know fibroids are not an issue. Still a teeny bit worried in the back of my mind about my egg reserves and my tubes being clear but I am going to try to give in a few months before revisiting like my doc said. I am still making milk it seems so I could also have a while before my hormones regulate. We shall see.
nectarine / 2994 posts
@septca: I'm really only holding out because I don't have any pregnancy tests in the house. dh is going away Saturday morning and will be back Sunday afternoon so I figured I would test during that time and either think of a good way to tell him (if it's positive) or drown my face in chocolate (if it's negative). It's a guessing game at this point whether I am, some signs point to yes and some point to no. Will see in a few days
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@MrsStar: Well, I'll be thinking about you!
@MrsMccarthy: I am so glad to hear that everything is in good order. You have no reason to fear the things you have no reason to fear... so just keep on and we'll be sprinkling you with baby dust.
