I actually did exactly this because the doctor told me incorrectly! And when I called them freaking out she 1) didn't understand what I was telling her at first & 2) told me it was no big deal. Of course we are planning to see a new pediatrician now!

I know it's scary & upsetting but it really is fine. You have to get way over double the dosage of ibuprofen for it to be an issue. Tylenol, you do have to be more careful.

At least it was Ibuprofen, he probably slept even better with the slightly higher dosage. Don't beat yourself up over it.

I beat myself up for weeks when LO found some Pepcid AC that DH had left on the dresser. She climbed on the stool, opened the container and ate at least 10 of them like candy when I was in the shower. She was fine, and I finally had to let it go. Things happen to great parents all the time

If it makes you feel better, a nurse practitioner at the hospital told me that the dosages noted on the box are usually the minimum amounts that are safe to give.

The night before last, LO was up crying, crying, crying about every 30 minutes from about 11 till 730. I couldn't figure out what was wrong or why she couldn't settle down. I kept smelling her bottom to see if there was poop but didn't smell anything. When I finally got her up for the day & changed her diaper I discovered a strawberry red rash with two open sore that had developed overnight due to a change in the diaper detergent we were using. I felt so terrible that I didn't check her diaper the second I thought it might be poop & I sobbed all morning.

DH just said it's a learning process. Mistakes will be made. They will make us feel like crap. But your LO will almost always be okay. It's okay momma.

Oh no! Glad he's ok, but how scary. Don't beat yourself up, I'm sure you will be very vigilant about dosages now! I've screwed DS2's feeding tube stuff more time than I can count, you have to just let it go

We did this when DS was a week old and recovering from his circumcision. I felt horrible. The pediatrician called poison control and calculated how much he got. One more dose and he would've been heading to the ER

Ok, man, hugs. It's ok; what makes you a GOOD parent is that once you realized the error, you tried to remedy it immediately. If it makes you feel better, my DH let our LO play with a small bottle of exederin one day on my and LO's way into work and when I got to work I realized she had gotten the child-proof lid off. Yeah. So, you know, we are all shitty parents sometimes.
