I know I"ve posted a million times about sleep, but here we go again.

I'm trying to avoid CIO- but we agreed that if in 2 months nothing has improved we will be in that position. So to try to avoid it, we are going with slower, more gentle methods for awhile.
I've decided this week she WILL take a nap by herself (not in the carrier / my lap / by me nursing her to sleep in our bed- the later of which only works for like 20 minutes anyway). We decided to try using the swing as a transition toward the crib.
I've been trying to get her to nap since 7:45 this morning (she woke up at 6:30- very early for her, so I know she is tired). I've got her in the swing, white noise, dark bedroom. She just kind of sits in there and fusses occasionally, sucks on her hand sometimes, but just stares. Twice she has actually started crying, so I've gone in, nursed her to drowsy and put her back in the swing.

Do I just wait this out? She is 3.5 months old, and has now been awake for 4 hours. I mean, eventually she will fall asleep, right? I know that right now she is overtired so it will be extra hard- she took a really long time to get to drowsy the last time I went in.
