So, when my son was 4 he would say he was allergic to anything he didn't want at that time- he was "allergic" to mustard, pickles, brushing his teeth, etc. Well, one day at school he didn't want to sit next to a kid in his class so he told his teacher he was allergic to black people. I DIED when I found out about it. So I do believe it is common at this age.
He is now 9 and would NEVER say anything mean or rude to someone, he's the nicest kid ever.

My kids aren't old enough for me to have anything to contribute to this list. But my friend's son is hilarious. After the first time he learned about death (around age 3?) and it had been explained to him as something that happens when you get old. Next time he saw an elderly woman he walked over and said, "Are you going to die soon?" His mom tried to talk to him about why it wasn't appropriate, but I guess she wasn't specific enough because next time they went out he asked an old man, "Hey, are you old?" before letting the man know that old people die. She keeps correcting but the kid basically has an obsession with old people. Like if they're walking past an old woman he'll say, "Excuse me, elderly lady!"

My 3 yr old does stuff like this.
At the store the other day:
To a lady: do you like f*ckses? Mama and me love f*ckses. (She was trying to say foxes)
To me: mama a need a new cock (clock)
To me about an elderly man: mama he stinks, he pooped. Change his butt.
That was just one day. Lord help me! Lol

Omg, these are making me scared for the future!

My aunt likes to tell a story about my cousin when he was little. (In the 80s.) They always used to go to the same supermarket, and quite often would check out with the same cashier, a pretty young lady who was black. Well, one day while going through the line, my cousin very seriously asked her, "Are you Mrs. Cosby?" The lady, without missing a beat replied, "Honey, I wish I was!"

My 4.5 yo son comments on or asks questions about everything and has a really LOUD voice. He's fascinated by motorized wheel chairs so every time we see one he starts pointing and talking about it loudly. We've talked about how it's not nice to point and talk about people so he's getting a handle on it, but it's still pretty obvious. He also likes to comment about elderly people. Once we were in a bakery and the server was probably 50. My son shouted out "Mama, do you think that lady is OLD?" Luckily, I don't think she heard/understood him.

My kid is still too young to be very embarrassing yet, but I've heard some awesome ones at school as a teacher. Most parents would be mortified if they knew what their kids repeated at school Recently, a little girl (age 4), sat on my lap, pointed down and said "Do you have a vagina like my mommy?!"

@lilteacherbee: OMG you must hear some gems. My aunt is a daycare/prek director and is always saying her kids repeat everrrrything!

Oh man!! These are too funny. I'm mortified to hear what might come out of DS's mouth in a year or too. lol

@lilteacherbee: haha! That is really funny. @Truth Bombs: one time DS pointed to a man with a potbelly and asked me if he had a baby in there.

My DD is too young to say anything embarrassing yet, but when I taught a 2.5 year old class at a daycare there was one little girl who said, "my mommy has a hairy pagina (vagina)" Then about 5 min later after I turned back around from hiding my face from laughing, she said, "my daddy has a big penis." I DIED.

My LO is only 23 months and already says embarrassing things in her top-loudness voice. Most of it is benign, like her newest thing is shouting "man!" or "lady!" or "dog!" at whoever we pass on the street....so that's going to be fun when one day, I'm sure she'll inevitably shout the wrong gender out.

Yesterday, at almost 3 years old, my LO 1 asked why a morbidly obese woman was "so big" at McDonald's. I was so embarrassed.

Luckily ac hasn't said anything too embarrassing, and at not quite two, not everyone understands her as well as I do anyway. But lately we have really been stressing that you always have to wear a helmet when you ride bikes. Lately whenever we see someone riding a bike without a helmet, she yells out, "ride bikes! No hat?" (Hat= helmet). But hey- they should be wearing no helmets so I'm not embarrassed.

@Truth Bombs: I'm purposely not teaching C that big belly means baby. She knows there is a baby in MY belly but I definitely don't point out other bellies. Hoping to avoid that but who knows...

I'm at work and trying so hard not to laugh out loud.

I'm sure when I have kids and have to experience this, it won't be so funny.

@lilteacherbee: My son is obsessed with who has a penis and who doesn't. As far as I know, the conversation hasn't left our house, but I'm sure his preschool friends/teachers will be asked/told about their genitalia soon...

From the other side - I had bad acne as a teenager and in my late teens I remember a kid asking "What's on your face?" Obviously if I still remember almost 20 years later it wasn't totally benign but I remember it didn't bother me much and I was more embarrassed for the child's mother who was clearly mortified.

LO loves to (at top-loudness voice, of course) remind me to buy wine at the grocery store. "You need some wine for you, mama!!" Helpful.

She also is really into Wizard of Oz, and princesses and witches generally. So, lots of "that lady looks like a good witch" or "that lady looks like the old, old lady witch mama!" My insides curl up in a ball and DIE

And the top embarrassing one is that LO and I have a game where I kick up my leg high like a rockette and she walks under it. For whatever reason, instead of "open your leg" she calls it "open your butt". Yeah, imagine your toddler in line at target yelling top-loudness and laughing "open your butt, mama!!!"
