Which one do you have? I'm debating getting one this year for my Black Friday splurge. The classic 4.5 seems sufficient for my basic baking needs, but the artisan 5.0 comes in just so many pretty colors!
So what do you have and why do you love it and recommend I have it too?

The artisan! And damn, i use that extra half quart or whatever it is!

Get the five quart. My mom has the 4.5, and she has trouble with dry ingredients splashing out of the smaller bowl even on regular recipes, never mind if she doubles them. She got a great deal, but she says she wishes she'd just gone for the Artisan (which I have and love, fwiw).

i have one with a lift bowl, i think it's a 5qt. love it. i like that it has no problem kneading things & i don't worry about the motor not holding up to that, it's a beast!

I have the classic and it can hold a double batch of my favorite yeast rolls so, it works for me!

I have the classic. It came FREE as a house warming gift from the company that we bought our house from. Needless to say, I was beyond excited.

I have the Artisan in Imperial Gray, and it works well for me. It has the tilt head so its fits on my counter easily. I have heard some of the bowl lift models may be too tall to fit under some upper cabinets.
I use it most often to make homemade pizza dough. I can make enough dough for 4 pizzas in my Artisan mixer.

We have the 6qt and come Christmas time I wish we had the 7qt.
Definitely get the strongest motor and capacity as you can. My bff's artisan quit before her first anniversary.

@NCSUchick27: depends on your kitchen. my mom has an older kitchen & had to get one with a tilting head because the lift ones won't fit under her upper cabinets. i have a newer kitchen and my lift bowl fits just fine.

i bake a lot and I have the classic and i love it. I do have 2 bowls though so I'm not constantly cleaning one out in the middle of baking.

I have the white 4.5 quart model with the tilt head. For what I do, it's more than enough. I do like the bowl with the handle though, I plan to get myself one of those when I start baking, eventually, lol.

@mrs. bird: I have the lift-bowl in red too, pretty sure its 5qt. Love kneading dough in it, I wish there was a scraper beater for it though.

The kohls deal is what we were looking at. The kohls cash makes it a good deal. I wish they had a coupon greater than 15% though.

I have a 4.5 that lifts and have never had issues with it not being "enough" although I'm a moderate baker, nothing crazy. I do have to pull it out from under the cabinet a bit to lift it up, but that's never bothered me!

@mrs. bird: I have been trying to find one on amazon that is global eligible (i'm in australia), I think there was only one last time I looked, but the reviews were terrible. Might have to start trawling ebay.

I have the 4.5qt. I got it around 9 years ago and I have never had issues with it not being big enough. After 9 years I'm ready for a new one (having some issues with the power switch) and I didn't even think about going bigger.

@MamaG: I just got a pop up saying ebates raised its rebate amount for Kohls.
I have the Artisan in blue. I love the color. I paid a bit extra for it to match my other appliances or kitchen.
I got it last year at Kohls for Black Friday , too.

I have the Artisan in silver, and I love it! I've had it about 5 years or so. When I was baking a lot, I used it all the time. I can make a double batch of Wilton icing in it with no problems. I'll be using it on Thursday to make mashed potatoes!

@bluestriped bee: Why am I thinking I saw 9% ebates on the other thread? Perhaps I misread.
I've never done ebates, but I think it's time to start, especially with all the online shopping I've done recently (probably should have started sooner :))

@MamaG: do you have a discover card or chase Freedom card? I believe it would be 5% cash back using either card too. I also always check the discover portal to see if it's higher or lower than ebates.
