no help here on reusable labels, but I use painter's tape. No residue.

@mediagirl: it does come off every day, and you can't wipe off the writing, which is semi-annoying, but it doesn't leave any residue. I've found it to be pretty easy.

How about printing out a labelmaker label but blank? Then use a wet erase pen (transparency pen like vis a vis).

You need to try this first to test it but sharpie markers can be erased with some alcohol.

Also, alcohol itself can crack acrylic. I think you are safe with plastic and glass containers.
