My co worker got her entire body (neck down) done, but it grew back when she was pregnant. She was so pissed. Otherwise, she loved it.

I did my bikini area last winter. I mainly did it because I get terrible ingrown hairs and let me tell you, it has been the best money I spent and I wish I did it earlier!!!

I had it done on my legs and underarms. Underarms worked GREAT. There is a slight bit of fuzz but its kind of like the fuzz you'd see on someone's face. Very, very slight and nothing really worth shaving. I haven't shaved in years! I think I was done after 8 sessions.
My experience with legs was so-so. I feel that my legs are very sensitive to heat now. When I take a hot shower, my legs get a bit splotchy red (though they don't hurt or anything). In terms of hair removal, it was about 90% effective. I have a few stray hairs here and there and they are very fine. For the most part, I'm pretty hair free and without looking up close, you couldn't really tell. I also did a LOT of sessions -- that could be why my legs are sensitive to heat now. Maybe I should have stopped at 6?! I probably did about 12.
Your coloring also makes a difference. I'm a pretty fair skinned Asian with dark hair. Underarm hair was really coarse, leg hair was a mix of coarse and fine. I think that is why I had better results with underarms.

@looch: That's what my friends say! They're like "WHY haven't you done it yet?? It's the best thing ever!" I never even considered it before but literally every single one of my girlfriends have done it.

@sunny: I'm a pretty fair skinned Asian with dark hair too. And I want to do the underarm area. I don't mind shaving my legs but I hate shaving underarms!

I was at a salon fits different treatment when I started chatting with the technician about it. She did a quick test to see if I could tolerate the laser and I was like this isn't do bad, so I got started. I did 6 sessions over the course of 6 months and I really think of it as a game changer.

@banana: I LOVE that I never have to shave my underarms. Hair didn't grow back while I was pregnant either. If you are considering it and can afford it... I would definitely do it! On this one, I figured why wait... I can enjoy being hair free for longer if I do it sooner! (Though I guess technology could change.... like with Lasik).
I always see Groupons for this type of stuff too. $200 for 6 sessions for underarms is so cheap. I think I paid more like $2000 for my entire package several years ago.

@sunny: The one where all of my girlfriends went to charges $75 for 6 sessions! Such a steal right?

@banana: Omg yes! I kinda wish I had waited to do it... only because there are so many more deals now!!!! I feel like I massively overpaid

i regret doing it completely and thought it was a gross waste of money. I have an olive complexion but get fairly pale in the winter and dark coarse hair. I did face, forearms and bikini. It cost so much money and I was going to sessions every two weeks or so for the better part of 2 1/2 years. my arms are definitely less hairy but now have a striped pattern to them, my bikini area is just so so i def still have to shave or get waxed. and my face pretty much all grew back due to hormone changes. I would have to stop going during the summer due to getting a tan. waste of time and money.

I looooove that I did it! It saves so much time and money on shaving supplies and bikini waxes (v sensitive skin, so I had to). I did it maybe 5 years ago and did lower legs, bikini and underarms. I have a few fine random hairs on my legs and bikini that are a really easy clean up shave every couple weeks (months?) takes care of. I could maybe have used one more session for my underarms, and shave them maybe once a week now, but WAY better than feeling like I just shaved and you could still see it. Oh, and I'm really fair w dark hair, so the best combo supposedly, if that helps.
