Is it normal for your LO to shake their head with their mouth open on your nipple but not want to latch? My LO does this on occasion and not sure what to do for her. She will be nursing, pull off and do this. She is 3 weeks old.

My son still does this occasionally and has since he was born - it makes me laugh.

I have a 4 week old who does this. She does it especially during cluster feeding from 3:30 to 8:30 every evening!

I always thought it was funny. If my LOs were doing it over and over and seemed frustrated I would pause and burp them as a distraction, then set them back against the boob and draw the nipple down touching their face from nose to chin to encourage a latch. It's totally nornal. Sometimes I think it was because they wanted a faster let down. Sometimes I think they just forgot what they were doing and how to do it.
