LO keeps latching on and off on one side every ten seconds and looking at me with this big goofy grin! He needs to eat and is doing better on the other side but dang it makes my nip Hirt when he does that! Do you keep nursing when your LO latches/unlatches because you know they need to eat or do you stop because you know they are kind of playing around?

After a while I would know she was playing and I would stop. either she would scream because she was still hungry or she would go off and play and then come back later.

I offer the other breast, if he's still doing it I end the session and offer later (usually 30-60 min later)

I try to burp her or switch sides to kind of snap her out of the pattern. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

I usually try to burp her and latch her back in the same side. If she won't, I stop and offer later.

Try nursing in a quiet, dark room to keep the eye contact and/or stimulation to a minimum. If that doesn't change the behavior, I would stop the feed and offer again later.

Girlfriend does this when she is overstimulated and I HATE it. She pop on and off, switches sides like a million times and it's not productive. I try to just end the nursing session, but she needs the fat so I always end up having to go back to it.

If I know that LO is just having a "snack" then she gets three goes to get feeding before I put the boob away but if it's a proper feed I'll cut her a bit more slack
It might be cute when they play at the boob but it can also be really annoying!

I try re-latching and then will switch sides. DS really likes a fast milk flow and if it slows down he starts doing this. Switching sides usually resolves the issue.

My LO. does this all the time particularly in the morning. She will latch on for 30 seconds, latch off swallowing a mouthful of milk do something cute (laugh, hold her fingers up for a kiss etc.) and then latch on again to do it all over again. I let her do this a few times (because although it is irritating it is pretty cute) and then stop the feeding. I figure if she was truly hungry she would eat (which she does when she is).
