Does anyone have a Lego table? Not necessarily Lego brand, but a table that is compatible with Legos. I am thinking of asking my parents for one for the girls for Christmas, but I would like recommendations first. I don't want a huge one, just for space reasons.
If you have one, would you recommend it? Was it worth the money?

We have a small one that my parents made! It's child height, maybe 1'x1' square with a Lego board glued on top. I have no idea how much they spent but I'd say it was no more than $40. The girls play with it about once a week.
ETA: I'd show you a picture but it's in DD2's room and she's asleep.

We're thinking of converting my sons train table into a Lego table! He mostly plays trains on the floor anyway, and I'm hoping Legos on the table might mean less in the floor. I'd just buy the flat base pieces and either Velcro or glue them to the table.
IKEA sells small organizing table type things that would make perfect Lego top tables

@Mrs. Pen: see that's what I'm afraid of with the Legos, they currently play on the floor and I'm not sure if they would use the table. But it would be nice to have current builds on a table so they don't get broken.

DH built a top that fits onto DS's little table from Ikea. It is perfect since we didn't have room for another table and we can easily put the lego part away if needed.
DS uses it almost every day.

Growing up we had DIY lego boards my parents made that were similar to this. They worked really well and it was nice to be able to put them away if we wanted to.

@whiskers: ooh, I love this. I wish I had seen this before making my LO's tray.
I used an old breakfast tray and glued some Lego-compatible baseplates in her favorite color to it with Gorilla Glue. She uses it a lot. It can be folded and put in her closet when not in use.

We took our old Ikea changing table, cut down the legs to her size, and glued the Lego plates to make a Lego table. Not fancy but it's awesome bc now I do not have legos everywhere!
Oh and we added wheels! Best idea ever bc now it can be wheeled from the playroom to living room to wherever she wants. When she's done playing, or if guests are coming, I just wheel it back into the playroom

I thought I would make a cover for my son's train table and make it into a Lego table, but he had zero interest.
The creations that he makes live on a shelf. I would have loved to do some kind of creative solution, but he is not interested, lol.
