If you have an artificial Christmas tree, how many years have you been using it? What do you think the lifespan should be of your tree?
I'm putting up my tree currently and this is the 6th year, and I'm feeling very strongly about replacing it after this year. I'm noticing a lot of burned out bulbs as I put it up and pieces of limbs are starting to fall off.

I've used ours for the last 5 years and I know it's older than that because my husband had if for years before I came into the picture. I hate it and want to replace it soooooo badly!

We've had ours for 6 years and it's okay. I'd love to upgrade to a bigger and fuller one, but for our current space allowance, our tree is good.

Our smaller one (not prelit) died last year, after maybe 5 or 6 years. It fell over several times at night and while we were at work! Nothing more depressing than coming home to a toppled, fully decorated tree 
we bought a bigger, fuller prelit tree and I looooove it!

So maybe 5-6 years is the average life 
I'm trying to justify the expense already. It's a good thing I didn't make a trip to Hobby Lobby BEFORE I started putting the tree up this afternoon.

My mom has one that is older than I am!
It's not prelit, I feel like those have a shorter lifespan.

Ours is 10 years old! My dad and I got it when he and my mom divorced because she took the tree with her. He gave it to me when I moved out. I think this will be our last year using it though. It's getting holey and I have to work hard to fill in all the gaps from the little branches falling off. Plus I'd really like a prelit!

Ours lasted 1 year!!! Buying our first real one as a couple after Thanksgiving!

We threw our, non prelit, tree out last Christmas after having it for 6 years or so. The branches weren't as full anymore and it was getting wobbly.

umm we're currently using my grandparents old tree. that they have had as long as I can remember..so it's at least 20 years old.

We used ours for about 5 years and finally bought a new one this year. I LOVE our new one so much. It's bigger and looks more real, but was still pretty cheap at walmart ($88).
