So, I’ve been TTC, and had what I thought was a period that started last week (about 2 days early for me) and ended Tuesday. But my boobs are still sore and I’m super bloated, so I peed on a stick at lunch and it came back super positive (I would be 19 dpo). I had a miscarriage in November, so I’m feeling like my “period” was probably a really early mc. Just st wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and what the outcome was. And before anyone says “call your doctor,” I left a message on the nurse’s line at my OB, so hopefully I’ll get a call back soon and know more.

there is a possibility that was implantation bleeding. otherwise I would wait for your dr office to get back ahold of you and test again tomorrow to see if the line is any different?

@karenbme: Yes, this is exactly what happened to me when I got pregnant with my second. I had a m/c in early November, and in late November/early December I had what I thought was a really light period that lasted about 4ish days (I convinced myself I had a wonky period because of the m/c) . Because I was still feeling *off,* just before Christmas I took a test and I was so pregnant that the test line was darker than the control line (I was about 6 weeks at the time). My second is now 20 months.

I had what I thought was a light period when I got pregnant with my first. Had some light bleeding the day it was supposed to start but no usual cramping. Lasted only about 4 days which is very abnormal for me. Took a test since it was such a weird period and control was much darker than the test line. Hope you get some answers soon!

@pwnstar: Thank you for sharing your story. Did you have implantation bleeding with any other pregnancies? I've only been pregnant the one time, and didn't bleed at all.

@karenbme: No, I didn't have any bleeding or spotting with my first. I did have bleeding much later in the pregnancy, but none during the early weeks.

I had bleeding with my first, I thought i'd started my period but it was only one day of heavy spotting. It was also a few months after a MC and I wondered if that was related. No bleeding with my second.

Keep us posted! I know implantation bleeding isn't the rule and doesn't happen in every pregnancy even for the same woman, but I've got my fingers crossed that's what it is for you this time!

This happened to me when I had an ectopic pregnancy. Definitely get betas if you can.

Betas would be the only way to tell what is going on. Could have been implantation bleeding, a subchorionic hematoma, etc. Fingers crossed you get good news!

Update, beta today is 76 @4 weeks 2 days. Follow up Saturday to see if it’s rising, but the nurse prepared me for another miscarriage.

I had what I thought was my first PP period (lasted 4 days) and then got a positive pregnancy test 4 weeks later. Turns out that “period” was implantation bleeding and I was actually 4 weeks further along than I thought I was
Currently almost 29 weeks and everything is going smoothly so far

I think it looks darker... and I hate when staff at the doctor's office try to predict the future based on single beta. I was told at my first appointment with my daughter that they thought it was 50/50 as to whether I would miscarry... and I didn't. I know it's hard but try to remain optimistic!

This happened with me with my first. I thought I had my period but it was weird and light and somewhat early. Was just implantation bleeding. FWIW, the top line looks darker to me!

So the level today was 100, which the doctor called inconclusive. Not rising as fast as they’d like but also really early... getting another level on Monday.
The uncertainty of it all is the worst.

I a negative test the day before what seemed like a normal period, then a late BFP with slow rising betas. It was ectopic. Hoping for a better outcome for you.

@lilyofthewest: did you have pain with your ectopic? My doctor told me not to worry about ectopic pregnancy unless I had significant one sided pain.

@karenbme: I had some vague discomfort, but nothing significant until I actually got methotrexate to treat it. I think it is more that an ectopic (if there is one) isn’t emergent yet if you have no/minimal pain.

Oh my gosh, I was so ready for bad news today because a couple of my symptoms have gotten less intense over the past couple of days and I had some dark brown spotting yesterday, but the level more than tripled in 48 hours, up to 339! Still can't rule out ectopic pregnancy, and there's a chance that it will still end in a loss, but for now it's good news.
I do have to get another level on Wednesday, which is kind of a bummer because both my arms are pretty bruised already, but if that's my biggest problem, I can handle it.
