Little miss has started doing this too, about two weeks ago. I think it's a deelopmental thing. Getting ready for cereals/purees. I missed the curs with little man. Hers are obvious.

But that's just my 2 cents.

Haha, L does the same thing! But she has been doing it for awhile, definitely before she was teething. I think it's so cute and I love the smacking noise, like she's chewing her cud.

@shopaholic: haha... you need three hands! two to open the mouth and one to push back the tongue!! Although usually you can't even see or feel anything until it's just about to break through, which could take weeks!

@shopaholic: btw, LMW would STARE at us as we ate, grabbed for our food, and smacked her lips as we ate for MONTHS. We tried to introduce solids at 6 months and she hated it. She didn't really start until well past 7 months!

@shopaholic: Oh honey, I wasn't trying to imply that she was ready for it! I was just saying that they're practicing and developing that swallowing reflex right about now. They're preparing for cereal and purees but no where near ready yet!

I think just developmental, exploring her mouth and the sounds she can make with it, etc. Lo started doing that months before he got any teeth!

@shopaholic: These pictures made me laugh...and imagine LO doing the same thing! He does it all the time. Sometimes he'll suck both of his lips in and look like a little old man without his dentures in. Love it!

As for teething, he's been doing it far more recently and is teething...so possibly??
