I'd like to get LO a couple sets of compatible toys for Christmas/birthday. I was thinking some Fisher Price Little People because I see them frequently on craigslist and other sites (where we get most of her toys). She is 21 months and we are expecting #2 in June so I don't want to add too many small pieces to our house at this point.
Does the Little People line sound like a good fit for us? Is there another line I should consider?

We've been gifted a couple separate Little People sets, and LO (26 months but received younger) has no interest in them. I know some kids LOVE Little People, but mine was not one of them. We have the Princess Castle, Ariel's set, and the Klip Klop horses. I thought she would love it, but she played maybe a day before the got put up on a shelf and never touched again.

Yes we LOVE little people here. We have the barn, house and Klip Klop horses and the girls are getting the klip klop cottage, A to Z zoo and princess castle for Christmas from family!

Sadie LOVES her little people. We have the dollhouse, nativity, barn, and car, and then just lots of extra people and animals. She plays with them every day at 21 months. No small parts, so they should be fine for #2.

My LOs love their Little People right now. LO 1 lost interest for a bit but got into them recently when LO 2 started playing with the princess, bus, plane and Snow White sets. .

@LuLu Mom: yeah, my lo didn't get into little people until just recently! She will be 2.5 this month.
I had almost given up on Little People for her but she is now really into playing with the doll house and the little people inside. I think she took a while to get into imaginative play with dolls and such but as soon as she did - she fell head over heels for her little people doll house.
Side note - we had put it away for a year when she showed no interest last year. As soon as I brought it out this year, she was all over it.

There are certain pieces she really likes, like the school house with a swing. The barn is kinda fun. She also likes the animal zoo set with an animal for each letter.

He has the barn and extra sets that go with it and he loves it. At first he liked to play the music but now he likes to play with the animals at 2 years old.
@T.H.O.U.: I haven't seen that A to Z set before. My son would love that.

my 25 month old plays with her Little People all the time. She has the barn and the dollhouse, but also puts the figurines in other toys and is starting to play pretend with them doing other things around the house.

@mediagirl: I won't get rid of it yet! I just have it in the basement, I think she's more into dolls right now (baby sis on the way) so she's been all about that kind of roleplaying.

We have the farm and the school house. He likes playing with things on the farm (like opening and closing the gates), carrying the people around to chew on (can't wait for that phase to end!), and he loves to carry the school house everywhere too.

my two year old loves little people! we have the castle, a farm, and she just got hand me down airplane and truck. she plays with them everyday! she likes just playing with the figurines too. i find them in all her stuff like her purses and bags
