Our LO (12 mos) has had 5 ear infections (one double) since February, on top of a large variety of other illnesses. Thinking back on it, she's never really been completely healthy. She's always had a cold, or a cough, or a virus. We've had 'healthy weeks' few and far in between. We went to the ear, nose, and throat doctor a couple weeks ago, and he recommended we get her tubes (seconded by our pediatrician). He was concerned at how sick she has been during the summer, and the frequency of the infections.

I've been concerned about the amount of antibiotics we've been giving her, not to mention the time missed from work and the constant misery she seems to be in!

So....ear tube surgery has been scheduled for the 24th, and seriously, I'm trying very very hard not to freak out at my desk because all I can picture is her having a bad reaction to the anesthesia and horrible things happening. I'm a bit dramatic.

Tell me it'll be ok! Tell me stories about your kid (or a kid you know) having the surgery and being just fine!
