...for my daughter's room. She looks at books before bed, so I want something that gives more light than a night light but less than an overhead light. The trick is that I want something with the bulb fully enclosed because she has a bad habit of trying to stare at light bulbs.
Do you have something like that? If so, where did you find it?

We have a light dimmer attachment for our bedroom lamp that can be attached to any lamp so you can adjust brightness. Maybe something like that would work?

I echo a dimmer attachment. I have one in the bedroom and one in the nursery.

Yup, a dimmer attachment. We've used it every night since birth. We dim the bedside lamp to read, then turn it off to snuggle for a few minutes before he goes into the crib. It worked great for MOTN nursings/changings when he was a baby, too.

I have this one. We got it a few years ago at JC Penny, and we use a 25 watt bulb in it. A dimmer is a great idea though!

I just want to come back and add something about the dimer light since I was talking to my husband about it after I rec' it. He said it is only certain light bulbs that will work with the dimmer, I guess some of the newer light bulbs don't work but the more classic standard kinds do. Just something to keep in mind if you go that route.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: It's true that regular CFL bulbs won't work with dimmable switches, but there are special dimmable CFL bulbs that you can buy. They're more expensive, however. Of course, the old style incandescent bulbs will also work.

@theRoo: do you live by an IKEA? They have lots of options! I think a beside light would be better than a dimmer
