I'm not asking which you prefer, I'm just trying to figure out which is perceived as the more "standard" spelling of this name, so:

I started typing in "Lorel-" and it recommended Lorelei. There were several Lorelei hits and one Lorelai hit, so I'm guessing it's the more common spelling. Also my phone underlines Lorelai in red like I've misspelled it but not Lorelei. Good luck!

This is LO1's middle name and we went with Lorelei because it seemed to be the more traditional spelling. Lorelai usually refers back to Gilmore Girls.

Lorelei seems more common but I grew up in the South Pacific so in my head I always pronounce that "lore-uh-lay"! So I prefer to second but voted the first.

Lorelei is the way the rock in the Rhine is spelled and the way the name in the two famous poems is spelled (Heinrich Heine and Sylvia Plath). So I vote Lorelei.
Its our #1 girls name.

I voted 'e' - I feel like some people who are unfamiliar with the name may pronounce the 'a' spelling 'lor-uh-lay'
