If your LO had more than 10% weight loss, how long did it take them to get back to birth weight?
ETA: we are supplementing but she lost 15% in the first 24 hours

DD lost a touch over 10% (although, I think that her birth weight was inflated due to all the fluids we both got with the csection). It took about three weeks for her to get back up to her birth weight. We EBFed and did not supplement at all. She was a slow gainer, but was healthy, alert and had no other issues, so my midwife was not at all concerned about her slow weight gain. She's now, at nine months, in the 84th percentile for weight

Sadie was born Tuesday night, and by Friday morning had already lost 11% of her body weight. Even though my milk had come in, she wasn't able to latch. I freaked out. We started supplementing, and by her appointment on Monday she had already gained some back (a few ounces). A few weeks later she was back at birth weight. I can't give any advice or opinions if you're not willing to supplement - that's what helped us!

@MrsH: LO lost either 16 or 18% of his weight. My ped wasn't happy and told me to make sure he ate somehow. He had a 2oz bottle of formula at the hospital and I started pumping for his first 3-4wks. The weight was back by his 10 day appointment. It wasn't there yet at his 7-day, so that's why our ped scheduled a 10 day. We had terrible latch issues but by 5wks or so we were able to nurse again.

LO lost 11.5% of her birthweight, and she was back to birth weight by two weeks old. She was soooo sleepy, and couldn't be bothered to eat. I hand expressed onto a spoon or pumped once my milk came in stronger and dripped it into her mouth.

I had a medical complication that didn't allow my milk to come in, so we went all formula. She was back to birth weight by 2 weeks.

I can't recall exactly how much weight Miss A lost but she was back up to birth weight by about two weeks (she was still down 185g at ten days). LO was born on a Tuesday afternoon, I had transitional milk on the Saturday and my milk was fully in on Monday. We didn't supplement but LO was cup fed approx. 60mL of expressed milk on the Saturday.

We were in the hospital for 5 days and he wasn't back to his birth weight until almost a month old.
At that point I was asked to supplement and he gained over a pound in a week.

DD lost 12% and was back to birth weight at eight days. We supplemented with formula for one night in the hospital before my milk came in. She gained eight ounces in twelve hours once we started supplementing.

LO lost 10% by the 5-day checkup. i saw an LC and we started supplementing with formula (and i started pumping because LO apparently was too sleepy to get the milk to flow) and he was back on track by the 1-month appointment.

DD was born on Friday morning at 8lb 2oz and was down to 7lb 4oz when we discharged on Monday morning - 10.8% weight loss. She was also jaundiced and they monitored her the whole time. My milk didn't come in until Sunday afternoon and while concerned with the weight loss + jaundice, the attending felt a lot better when my milk came in. We were threatened that DD would have to stay a couple extra days if her bili levels didn't drop below a certain number (I can't recall it) by Monday morning but thank goodness, it did even if it was juuuuuuuust below. We did a ton of nakie sunbathing by the window and I fed her non-stop. She was still slightly jaundiced when we discharged and at her first follow-up on Wednesday, she was still slightly yellow but the pedi said it was ok. DD was sleeping ok and didn't fuss too much so the pedi/attending let me just keep EBF and didn't push me to supplement. I think if she had been more fussy then they would have asked me to. She was back at her birth weight by her 1 month appointment.
On a side note, DD has always been low on the weight - below 20%.

I think by 10 days he had gained it all back and them some! We supplemented with formula before my milk was in and then pumped milk.
