when my hubby was on night float (working in evenings, sleeping mornings) he used to HATE the neighborhood kids who played basketball all day. all he'd hear was bouncing balls. if there was a ball in our yard though, he'd take it. (he's so bad!)

unfortunately, nothing you can really do except send mean thoughts. he's doing it at a reasonable time. i don't think you could steal his hammer.... =( sorry, no help here.

OMG. Our downstairs neighbors are the loudest ever. The doors in all our flats automatically swing shut and there are doors everywhere (like a totally unnecessary one between the hall and the living room). Every time they go from one room to another they let the doors slam behind them. So all day (and late into the night) long *SLAM, SLAM, SLAM*!
We've got all of our doors like that propped with door stops, so we don't have this issue in our house. It irritates me now, but when the baby comes I may actually go insane. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they move out soon as they also litter the area by our entrance with cigarette butts.

We used to have a problem with our neighbors playing loud music during the day while my husband was trying to sleep. He was working nights. We lived in an apartment complex though so we could file a noise complaint. One thing we couldn't do anything about was the lawn service that came every week. It seemed like they spent the entire day using a leaf blower under our windows.

I'm sorry the neighbor woke your baby up.

Our neighbors make a lot of noise too but thankfully they are super sweet and understanding, and every time we complain they stop immediately and apologize profusely. They have grown kids so they know what it is to keep a sleeping baby asleep

Unfortunately, we live on a busy street right in front of a busy intersection stoplight so police/fire engine sirens, motorcycles, trucks, and loud stereos are a constant problem for us. I actually look more forward to winter because the motorcycles go away and the loud stereos get trapped behind closed windows. I get so angry when loud people go by during naptime... we always joke about getting those spike strips police use in high speed chases.

I wouldn't do anything, as there's not much you can do. But my husband loves playing the grumpy old man, so he'd probably say something to them.
