The only feedback I have about injectible IUI is that it can easily lead to too many embryos, so I would want to clearly hear from the doc how they planned to manage that. If there are too many, the cycle will be cancelled. My doc avoided injectible IUI cycles for the most part and did Clomid IUI then he recommended IVF.

We were supposed to go straight to injectables too because of my high FSH and low AMH, but I got pregnant and miscarried. I think it's a normal jump for DOR. My injectibles IUI cucle would have been $2500.

I just wanted to pipe in with my experience with injectibles. I have had one child with injectibles/IUI, and I am approaching 29 weeks pregnant with my second child conceived through injectibles/IUI. We did do two failed Clomid/IUI cycles. But what I favored with injectibles is the ability to really control the cycle and make adjustments along the way. With monitoring, bloodwork, etc. it's a good step before IVF if intervention is required.

I did IUI + injectibles after not responding to Clomid or Femara. I had to do two cycles and it was a lot of monitoring but they were able to adjust the dosage based on my blood work and ultrasound. For my second one I did have multiple follicles (3 mature and 2 almost) and we almost converted it to an IVF. But we decided to go ahead with the IUI. I did have to sign a bunch of paperwork regarding multiples and selective reduction but in the end we only ended up with a singleton.

Luckily my insurance covered it but with my old insurance I think I was quoted between $2,500 and $4,000, with most of that being the medications.

My meds were quoted around $2k (sometimes you can find leftovers from other people because you have to buy it all ahead). And a monitored IUI cycle was $505 or $550 I think.
