Do your kids eat lunchmeat? I have it in my head that our two year old shouldn't have it and I'm not sure why.

Very occasionally if I'm in a pinch. It has a lot of sodium and preservatives

I give LO low sodium turkey breast occasionally if I'm eating it for lunch too.

Yeah all the time (a few times a week probably!). I buy the all natural kinds or boars head.

My older one does. I pack her a sandwich for lunch maybe once a week. I buy the all natural kind, if that helps.

We very rarely eat lunch meat so she doesn't either. She's had it a few times and mainly over at the ILs.

@winniebee: same - my LO gets it regularly - like at least once a week and sometimes more. Before I got pregnant she would regularly steal bites from my sandwiches. She loves Boars Head ham. She also loves salami and prosciutto

Several times a week- turkey is a staple for him. Usually we go with Applegate Farms brand.
He's not a big sandwich guy either, so usually I'll throw a few slices down. Sometimes I can roll it in a tortilla with cheese or cream cheese. It's such am easy protein source!

Liam really likes turkey lunch meat. I just packed it in his lunch for the first time yesterday and he gobbled it up!

So, consensus seems to be that lunchmeat is okay. M doesn't really like it but they serve it at daycare so I was curious if we should just ask them to offer her a cheese sandwich on Fridays (lunchmeat days). Guess we'll go with it's okay!

It's hard for us to get Liam to eat protein, so that's why I overlook the sodium and preservatives. I buy it at trader joe's, so I know it isn't too bad.
