Did you watch the Usher fireworks show? I'm a little annoyed. Where were the American anthems? Why 4 usher songs in a row? And since when does Jay-z trump Frank Sinatra?!? Also, where was my Bon Jovi or duh Katy Perry? Am I the only one? So offended and annoyed!

Usher curated the playlist for the fireworks this year. That's probably his stamp on this years fireworks display.

A FB friend was also annoyed by the Usher songs and lack of traditional songs. I didn't see it.

I thought there were a bunch of traditional songs. I don't know, it was a good mix for me. I think he could have chosen four better songs from his catalog though, those four were not my faves.

He definitely could've picked better songs from his catalog. I thought it was pretty ridiculous that he was tasked with creating a playlist and chose to include 4 of his own songs. These weren't even patriotic songs. It was more of a club mix

I wasn't paying enough attention to catch the 4 Usher songs but I remember commenting to DH that the music wasn't choreographed to the fireworks as well as it usually is, plus it was so overly geared toward young people.

Jimi Hendrix's rendition of our national anthem played first. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's rendition of a America the Besutuful played. There was a chorus God Bless America. The patriotic sounds were in the set.
I agree four complete Usher in a row songs were a bit much. I was expecting Mr. 305 Pitbull since the beginning started off as top 40 dance music.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I guess I wouldn't have minded the lack of patriotic songs if it wasn't so obviously the Usher show. Placing one at the beginning, one in the middle and One at the end would've made it less annoying and less egotistical. I'm going to play my America mix all day today to make up for it.

Ok, I saw it on west coast time. I like Usher so I was hoping it wasn't going to be that bad but like @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: said 4 songs back to back was a bit much. Is he releasing an album soon or something?
@katsupgirl: It did feel like it was 'The Usher show', not July 4th celebration. I actually flipped to my local channel during his 3rd song.
The fireworks were pretty to watch, though. It was much better than my local fireworks.
