I've read that a lot of new mom's end up changing diapers wherever, but as I have a fear of anything poopy, I can not see myself doing that - ever! Last thing I'd want is to change my bedsheets or clean the couch AFTER I've just changed, fed, and burped baby.

If I were you, I'd buy the pack and play and the cabinet. You can use both of them even after you buy more baby furniture. The pack and play can eventually double as a portable crib and the cabinet your LO can use forever.

But if there's limited space, maybe look for a portable changing table instead? That way you can have a spare in another part of the house once you're done with the nursery.

I changed diapers all over the place and we didn't have a problem with it! LOs don't have too much stuff, so you can probably do without a dresser for the first 6 months.

We travel most weekends and have a fancy pack n play with the changer and bassinet as well as a plain pack n play which has a bassinet but no changing area. For the first 5-6 months, DS slept in the bassinet part of the pack n play. Once he started pushing up to his hands and knees, we lowered him to the floor of the pack n play. The changing table was handy, but it has a low weight limit and we only used it for the first 2ish months.

Generally I changed DS wherever - the couch, floor, table, etc... I never even used DS's changing table until he was 6-7 months old. He also didn't start rolling away during diaper changes until he was 7-8 months old. Before then he might get squirmy, but he was still small enough and immobile enough to change safely on the couch or table. I just used a prefold or the changing pad that came with our diaper bag to put underneath him.

I think you would be fine with a pack n play with the bassinet in it, rather than buying a separate bassinet. Also, I think you can get away without a changing table or changing area on a dresser, if that is a cost you want to put off.

We're using a pack n play and really appreciate it's versatility. We used the bassinet/cradle attachment for the 1st month and now she just sleeps in the crib. Our first just slept with us, so no need for any of the above.

That pack n play solves your bassinet and changing table needs... my first LO used that instead of a crib for the first 6 months. We've also never owned a changing table or had a changing pad/dresser setup.

We're in a similar situation in that we won't be moving into our new home until 1-2 months after her birth. So at our current house we have a hand me down pack n play that has a changing area set up in our bedroom. She'll be sleeping with us in a Summer Infant By Your Side Sleeper at night.
I can see her napping in our bed -sans blankets- during the day and/or in the pack n play if she starts rolling before the move.

I prefer the pack n play (although I never planned on registering for one it was a bonus that my brother still had my nephew's) over the bassinet. Because you can use it longer. And it will be helpful when we go visit family because it folds up so compact for traveling, if need be.

I voted pack & play, but I wouldn't recommend the one you had linked. Our LO slept in the P&P in our room for the first 10 weeks. The napper attachment is not intended for sleeping and once i saw how much our LO moved, I'm glad we didn't have it. Our P&P had the diaper changing station and then a raised floor/mat bassinet (mostly so you don't have to reach as far to place the baby.

We packed the P&P away after 10 weeks but have now started using it again for travel and it will be used to contain our LO out in the yard when we are getting some work done outside.

Also, we very rarely use the changing pad on top of the dresser. Most of the time as a newborn I laid the changing pad from her diaper bag on the end of our sectional couch and changed her there. Now at 8 months she mostly gets changed on the floor. Also, we have a 2 story and I couldn't do the stairs to change her diapers in her room initially.
