Whenever dh and I go to the mall, dh talks about how he will not let LO play on the mall play structures. He is OCD about germs. He said he's more open to outdoor parks because those playgrounds aren't as busy around here.
Do you mind the indoor mall playgrounds?

Depends if it looks clean. I just let her play in an airport one and you know how much traffic an airport has but it looked clean and no one else was in there so it killed a lot of time!

I let LO play in the one at the mall all the time. It's cleaned twice a day. It gives me a break and he loves it! He runs around it shrieking with joy.

I would probably be ok with it but hubs is a total germaphob and would veto it.

Nay. The play area at my mall is not a safe place for my LO. It is a small space that is always packed with kids, many of whom exceed the height limit. The kids and parents do not follow the rules (ex. no climbing on structures).

We always let Wagon Jr. play in them. He loves them and he actually gets pretty tired of them pretty quickly anyway. On weekends and rainy days there are always bigger kids running around like crazy, which drives me insane (hello, height limit?!?) but we just grin and bear it because it helps us to have a good mall day all together. We just make sure to monitor him very closely, and we Purell very very well before and after.

I'd like to say no, but usually with this kind of thing I'd give in easily. If LO is happy, I'm happy.

I voted "depends". If it's super packed and not well supervised by other parents (letting kids eat while playing, shoes are on, etc), then I wouldn't let him play there. But if it's not too crowded, clean and seems pretty well supervised then I would let him.

I voted "nay" - the mall play areas are one of my pet peeves. Beyond the other parents letting their children run amok, it just irritates me when they are packed on a gorgeous day. My thought - take the children to the park instead of the mall and let them get some fresh air.
