I wished I had took more of the pads from the hospital (huge blue ones and smaller orange ones). I bled A LOT and felt like my couch and bed were more protected in those. After that, I bought the biggest pads I could find. I like infinity best normally, but was going through so many that I just bought the cheaper ones (stayfree I think). The bulkier they were, the less they seemed to leak. Ugh. PP bleeding was something I was so unprepared for!

I used overnight pads. Worked great!

I used the giant hospital pads/mesh panties combo for the first week home from the hospital. After that, I used a box of Always Infinity Overnight, and now I'm just using normal Always pads (I'm 2.5 weeks post partum). I think I'll just use normal pantyliners after this box runs out.

The hospital pads were great, they showed me how to overlap them to wear two at a time. When I came home, I used always maxi pads

I used some generic brand my husband brought home. They were ginormous and worked perfectly. Granny panties FTW.

@sweetchic: it varies really. I had a lot of little tears and bled a lot after delivery. I still was spotting at 5 weeks PP, but heavy bleeding lasted about 2 or 3 weeks (it's only been three months and I already forget!}.

I used the GIANT hospital pads in the hospital, but regular overnight pads for the first few days at home. Then I switched to Always Infinity. The material is more cloth-like as opposed to mesh-like... much easier on the lady bits.

I asked for extras of everything when I was at the hospital so
I stocked up there. Also ask for the basins and anything else you can get your hands on. We ended up getting like 2
Or 3 bags of stuff to bring home. We even got this awesome thermometer they used on LO in the NICU. It was like Christmas!
