After a rocky early start for various reasons, I feel like the last couple of days have brought significant improvements in breast feeding and supply. (E is two weeks old today.)

BUT, he has been nursing every 1.5 to 2 hours around the clock yesterday and today. I know that can be normal, but this evening I feel like he's floated the keg. I haven't pumped in 3 days because he is eating so frequently. And now, he's been attached to the boob for the last 2 hours continuously. He'll de-latch, act completely frantic that he's not latched, latch, and suck like he's been starving for a month. (Repeat times a trillion.)

I can still hand express some milk, but I feel like he isn't getting what he wants, because both sides are *so* soft, they don't even feel like they normally did pre-pregnancy.

I weighed him, confirmed that he wasn't getting any significant volume, cracked, and now my mother is giving him a bottle of formula we had left over.

So, permit me a SIGH. For those EBF'ing mamas, did these marathon nursing sessions take a couple days to increase supply? Should I have stuck it out with a screaming baby? I'm praying that he takes a longer than one hour nap to give me a fighting chance to refill the tanks...
