    @bizwitch: yay!

Ugh, I just have to vent. I just saw a good friend who I haven't seen for awhile, who has a baby. And she was like, I thought you were going to start ttc awhile ago, apparently you didn't pull the goalie. And when I said we had indeed her response was "apparently you don't have much sex."

This seems to be the modal response of people irl. I let it go but was so annoyed. When the topic came up later, I did explain that I was worried about ttc and it doesn't just work out automatically.

@periwinklebee: oh my! People are so clueless and rude. I'm so sorry.

@periwinklebee: of that's rude! I would have been tempted to say "you would think so but we have been screwing like bunnies ... my vagina can't take much more of a pounding"

@periwinklebee: That is absolutely awful, I really hate the people who say things like you must not be doing it right or some such thing.

I have hit a point where everyone in my RE office knows my name, when I first started as a patient I really hoped I would get pregnant before this point. Also minor annoyance in my life my insurance will only cover femera from now on ordered as a 3 month supply through a mail order pharmacy. So yes I am super super grateful that they cover it at all, but basically I have to order and pay for 3 months of pills now before I can even take a pregnancy test. Otherwise I would have to skip a cycle waiting for it to come in since I see my doctor on day 3 and start femera same day.

@jhd: @MsMini: @snarkybiochemist: it seems like there are people who are just dying to make a smart-alack type remark about your sex life (or lack thereof) and can't resist the opportunity when TTC comes up. We should start a POAS bingo of ridiculous commentary. "you don't have enough sex", "enjoy the practice", "just relax and it will happen" BINGO.

@MsMini: I'm bad at the real time comebacks - that's hilarious!

@snarkybiochemist: That is super-annoying about the Femera. I really hope you don't need the new supply!

  6. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@periwinklebee: I am hoping that if the order is placed and filled I won't need it.
I will add these to TTC/POAS bingo:
are you sure you want kids?
I heard that X position makes it easier to conceive, have you tried that?
and make sure he comes inside of you

@snarkybiochemist: OMG "makes sure he comes inside you"!
How is that not the most obvious thing!!

I don't know, I didn't personally get that one but a friend did

  9. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@snarkybiochemist: I laughed out loud when I read that. If someone said that to me I'd probably say "What?! You mean if he comes on my face I won't get pregnant??"

    Some people.

@periwinklebee: I'm sorry you had to deal with a rude friend. Some people are so clueless and don't think before they speak. It's not the norm to get pregnant as soon as you start trying, but people who are lucky to conceive right away and go on to have easy, healthy pregnancies don't seem to realize this.

  14. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@snarkybiochemist: "Make sure he comes inside you" Omg, that has to be the best one. And you're like - ah hah, why didn't my RE tell me that, I thought I had to swallow it?!?!?.

@PeaceLily: Yeah, I think people just assume from their own experience - I had sex and got pregnant, so if someone else isn't, the problem must be the sex...

  15. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@periwinklebee: People very much operate under the idea that you go off birth control, have sex, and with in a month or two you are pregnant. Its so frustrating because I want to correct them, but I don't always want to share my personal story.

@shellio: Do you want me to mark you as positive on the list?

  24. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@Tionn3: It's awful. Though I did laugh so hard at the comment received by @snarkybiochemist: about "he has to come inside you." Honestly, this is probably the first time I've laughed (or even smiled!) about something TTC related in a long time...

  25. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@mrsbubbletea: Since I only take 5 pills at a time, its 15 pills and it should cost around $5-10 (I know super lucky). So it won't be expensive or take up any space in the grand scheme of things but its annoying to have to plan for not getting pregnant when I'm trying to be optimistic about this cycle.

  26. snarkybiochemist

@periwinklebee: Its good when we can try and laugh over this process

  27. mrsbubbletea

@snarkybiochemist: Yes, I totally get it. Hopefully it will be like a positive jinx, since you have the supply won't need it!

  34. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@snarkybiochemist: Do you notice more "sensations" in your ovaries while you're on Clomid/Femara? I've felt some odd twinges each night after taking the dose and it's so strange.

  35. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@mrskansas: I didn't notice too many twinges while on the medication, but I did notice super strong ovulation pains when I actually ovulated. The first month it caught me off guard with the sharpness of it.

  36. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@snarkybiochemist: I felt ovulation the cycle after I had my ectopic surgery. They removed a cyst from my ovary and I ended up ovulating from that one and it was pretty uncomfortable.
I've been prepared for ovulation to feel something similar to that but I've just been surprised by twinges leading up to actual ovulation.

  37. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@mrskansas: I hope it isn't too painful for you. I know some people say they feel twinges and can really feel the follicles grow.

  38. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@snarkybiochemist: That must be what's happening to me.

I cannot stand the acne I've gotten from Clomid though. I usually have clear skin but I've gotten some pimples around my mouth and I HATE it. I'd rather have all the crazy hot flashes than look 13 again

  39. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@mrskansas: My skin didn't change much on Clomid, but man have I had extra pimples on femera. I get the hard red bumps on my chin and it hurts and looks awful. This is a part of TTC that really sucks

  40. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@snarkybiochemist: It's interesting how we all react differently to things. It's so hard dealing with acne as an adult especially when it's from freaking fertility medication.
ETA: The pimples I have hurt too! Usually if I get a random one I don't feel it, but these are painful!
