@theotherstark: You are not horrible w/ charts at all! You told me something I didn't know about FF! I guess I'm glad they like to be safe & not assume O haha. How are you feeling w/ your TWW?

@snowjewlz: @theotherstark: I hadn't been temping, so, it was giving me a vertical line just from a positive OPK. However, it has now been an obscenely long luteal phase (plus consistently negative hcg)
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/4c6b31 (edited to add: the two "notes" in the chart are for nearly-but-not-positive OPKs.)

I'm going to keep taking OPKs just so I have an idea of what's happening when, even if I'm not planning to use the data for getting an xmas baby. And I think I'll keep peeing on hcg sticks at least intermittently for the next couple of weeks just in case I *did* ovulate and missed the surge.

@snowjewelz: Eh. Trying not to get too antsy. There really haven't been any "symptoms" to spot this month, so I'm feeling a bit 'meh' about this cycle already. Haha. I'm still only 5 dpo (I think), and am trying not to think about it too much. I'm also trying not to stress about my chart. I hadn't temped too much in the days leading up to O, so I think it's throwing things off a bit. I'm hoping I O'ed when I initially thought I did, but now I'm not so sure. Ugh.

Wow, girls! I missed so much when I was gone over the weekend. I have an update, too--BFN on FRER this morning at 12DPO. I think we're out. It's not that surprising, because I had all those crazy OPKs, so who knows if I even ovulated. I'm just ready for SOMETHING to happen--it's CD 50 today, and I'm over it. UGH.

Here's my question--at what point do you ladies think I should contact my midwife again based on this timeline:

    August 2013: BFP!
October 3, 2013: First US, 11 weeks. Sac but no baby, development had stopped at 6W1D. Missed MC. We decided to wait for things to happen naturally.
October 18, 2013: MC bleeding started. Bled for about 4 days, spotted for about 4 weeks.
October - December: HCG blood draws move at a snail's pace. They go down, but SO SLOWLY. Still getting positive HPTs.
    December: Spotting.
Late December: Heavy bleeding. Thought it was first AF, but I bled for 20 days. Ended up in the ER because of crazy cramping and bleeding.
January 15: Passed a clot, which was clearly the end of my MC. No more bleeding after that.
January 28: AF. A seemingly normal one for me--normal length, normal bleeding, etc.
    Now: CD 50. Negative HPT,

I should probably put this in its own thread, but I wanted to check in with you guys. I know it takes a while to regulate after a miscarriage, but I was supposed to have a baby next month (!!!) and I still haven't had a regular cycle yet. What do you think I should do?

ETA: To anyone who actually reads this entire thing, thank you. You are awesome. Definitely didn't mean to write a novel here.

@mfa_lady: sorry about the bfn :(. My cycles we're longer after my miscarriage. 6 weeks to get my period then 35+ day cycle, then 30, then 28. I think it's fairly normal to happen that way but if they don't seem to regulate within a few months, I would call. You could call now but your midwife will probably say to give it a few months.

    @Freckles: anticipating!!!!

@mfa_lady: I don't know anything about post miscarriage cycles but I do know that it can take varying amounts of time to get pregnant. If your cycles still haven't regulated since the miscarriage though I would tell a doctor just in case. I hope April is your month.

@winniebee: Hey, lady. Thanks so much for your response. I think you're right--I just get SO frustrated with it because the first part of the process (the actual MC) took so long. Reading your response reminds me that technically I didn't finish miscarrying until mid-January...and THAT is not so long at all. I am just exasperated because before that I had been pregnant since August and then miscarrying since October. Ack. This stuff is the worst!!

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MrsMccarthy: Thanks for your reponse, lady! I should clarify--my frustration is not over not being pregnant (although being pregnant sure would be nice! :))--it's just that it's taking sooooo long for this process to finish. I actually haven't had a normal cycle since July, when I got KU. It's the worst! I think @Winniebee is right, though--I should give it a couple of months and then get back in touch with my midwife. But...if I don't get my period in a couple more weeks I may email her just to keep her in the loop without requesting any action.

@mfa_lady: Ugh, that's super frustrating I'm really sorry you had to go through all of that, and that it took so long. I have no advice, but I hope things regulate for you quickly, and that your sticky BFP is right around the corner!

  13. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@mfa_lady: Yeah, just to add that I personally would probably just email her/call her to let her know what's up and see if she has any advice? It's possible she'll tell you to give it a few more months, but at least she would know what's going on

@theotherstark: If your cycles are more or less normal, I'm pretty sure you O'd when you did then... I guess we'll both just wait for now! Hang in there!

@lilyofthewest: Ugh I'm sorry it's so confusing! I hope you can find out what's going on soon!

@mfa_lady: Welcome back! I know, catching up on POAS threads can be a nightmare! CD50! I'm sure you're dying for a new cycle by now! I didn't know about the details of your journey till now... I just want to give you a hug for having to go through the MC for 4 months I don't have any advice for you, but you are so awesome for being a go-getter and keep trying!

@mfa_lady: I hear ya. I has my missed m/c diagnosed a month ago today but opted for the D&c. Still waiting on AF to arrive and i feel just stuck in no man's land...but more kn the side of the miscarriage because I'm not able to move forward until AF shows. So I'm just stuck sitting around twiddling my thumbs.

@mfa_lady: I'm so sorry. Missed miscarriages are awful and i can see why it's taking a while for your cycles to regulate since you waited for it to complete naturally. I had a D&C the following week (11 weeks)...the first two periods were really heavy but they eventually regulated. I hope your midwife has some answers for you!

@theotherstark: @MrsMccarthy: Soo...i tested again last night and it did end up being buuut...i'm really afraid it's going to end up being another chemical. I'm expecting AF in 2 days, but so far i'm not feeling the AF signs. I'm thinking of going in to get some blood test requisitions to confirm that my numbers are looking good.

@mfa_lady: What a roller coaster you've been on. I am so sorry you had to go through all of that:-(. I think you should see a doctor whenever you feel comfortable. It seems like your body is having a hard time regulating itself, and if it's stressing you out you should definitely be seen. lt's YOUR body and you need to do what feels good for you. I hate when people in the medical community say "well this is normal/it happens/wait a while and come back and see us," because it's hard to do when it's happening to you! The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Be squeaky!

@mfa_lady: Thanks, lady. I remember how helpless and frustrated (and impatient) i felt when i was in your situation. It's heartbreaking to go through but so common! I know you'll get that sticky baby soon!

@theotherstark: @snowjewelz: @ChiCalGoBee: Thanks! If i don't get AF by Tuesday i'll feel a little more secure about the results.

@mfa_lady: So sorry you've had to deal with all this. I agree with @theotherstark: - I'd go ahead and call or email, just to let your midwife know what's up. She may still tell you to wait, but she may tell you to come on in! Like @ChiCalGoBee: said - Be squeaky! You never know until you ask!

@mfa_lady: I just wanted to say I'm so sorry that you are having such a trying experience physically healing! I do think you should talk to your mid-wife.

After my D&C for missed m/c I bleed for nearly 3 months off and on without a period. Finally the doctor agree to see me again and gave me 10 days of progresterone to help my body sort out and regulate. I got my first period 2-3 days after I took all the medicine. It took 3.5 months to have a period, but after that my cycles fell right back to my normal cycle and ovulation.

@Freckles: Fantastic news for this dreary Tuesday! Congratulations!!! Picture?

@mfa_lady: If you have a way to email, I would absolutely shoot her a quick note just to check in and let her know where you are. Even if she doesn't think you need to come in yet (unfortunately, what you are going through is probably pretty common), at least you'll be on record and she will have an idea of where things stand. I send my endo specialist check-in emails every once in a while just so she knows how things are going (in fact, if I am not KU this month I owe her a note saying so...).

@Freckles: sticky congrats honey! I hope this is it for you. I really think it is.

Took a pregnancy test at 7DPO out of boredom and of course BFN. I really don't think this is our cycle anyway. Praying for an LP longer than 10 days. Last one was 9 with spotting on 8. Basically if I can make it to Saturday for AF I will feel better about our chances.
