I believe I belong in this lovely group now I am currently on CD15/3DPO (yeah, I know, for some reason I O'ed earlier this cycle) but got in some good BD'ing so I cannot complain.
My potential POAS date is May 7, according to FF ;))) FX for all of us, girls :)))

    Current Cycle Day: CD8
Hello ladies:) I've decided to join:) I usually try and wait to POAS until I've been late but since starting fertility treatments the temptation to test early is just too much. Now at least if I get a BFN I will have people who can feel my pain.
    Ovulation Date: April 23
    POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: May 6/cd 28
Cycles trying: I think this is cycle 14 or 15
BD timing: every day after + opk for a week per doctors orders
Anything different his month: 50 mg clomid
And because it is May, favorite flower: Peonies

Finally! I may JUST make it in this board but here I go!

    Current Cycle Day: CD1

Ovulation Date: Who knows! It really could be anywhere around May 16-23.

POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: Between 33 and 47, I'm really hoping to be able to POAS on May 31, which would be CD37

Cycles trying: officially our 4th cycle trying.

BD timing: every day once EWCM shows since that is an indication of an upcomign positive OPK in the next 2-3 days.

Anything different his month: nope, exercising regularly and drinking lots of water last cycle at least helped shorten my cycle from 40+ to finally under 40, so I'll continue this and hopefully it'll be even shorter this time around.

Hi all, I've been lurking for awhile but decided to jump back in. I miscarried last September right before my 12 week appointment (was due in March). We've been trying since with no luck. Really I've stayed away because the boards have been terribly depressing watching each month go by. I'm trying to adjust my attitude and hope playing along this month will keep me positive.

    Current Cycle Day: CD1
    Ovulation Date: May 9
POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: May 22 (cycle day 27)
Cycles trying: 7 after our m/c
BD timing: around ovulation. Not sure if we'll go for every day or every other
Anything different his month: a better outlook? I'm trying
And because it is May, favorite flower: love Asiatic lilies

    Hi!
We are trying for our second, my first is 20 months and I'm advanced maternal age (ug!) so we've been sort of trying for about 4 cycles. With my son we got married in August 2011 and then thought about a baby and poof it happened. And that doesn't seem to be happening this time.. so can I join to benefit from your expertise and well wishes?

I admit, I had to look up some of the abbreviations but I think I get it now.

    Current cycle day: 9
Ovulation date: I think around April 29th or so (maybe)
    POAS date: May 14th
    Cycles trying: 2
BD timing: I have lofty goals and then we work outside the home FT and then have a 20 month year old and a dog.. so we are tired! But we will aim for April 27,28,30,31 at least (yes it is in my outlook calendar as BD- sad)
Anything different? Joining the boards and getting excited and maybe more BDing if we don't fall asleep

Favorite flower: any wild flowers and tulips are so pretty

    Good luck everyone!

@savanarunner: Glad to see you back on the boards! Just wanted to tell you that MrsCastro and I both suffered miscarriages last year and then went months without getting pregnant. I started seeing my chiropractor and she started getting acupuncture and we both got our bfps. Just a thought for ya. I really think miscarriages mess up our bodies and that a little manipulation makes a big difference. Hope you get your rainbow baby soon. *hugs*

@T.H.O.U.: with as hard as it was to go through a miscarriage, I feel like God put me through it to help other women who have to experience the awfulness of a m/c. And now He blessed me with a growing rainbow baby and I can only hope to help others who are struggling to get pregnant again. and thank you!

@savanarunner: I saw him for a month and the next month he scheduled my adjustments around my cycle. So I met with him the day after my period was over and 2 weeks later (around O). And I haven't seen him since. He had me taking b-complex to help my lp lengthen but otherwise he said dh is my sex slave for 5 days. Hahahah! And voila! P.S. There is hope. Don't doubt your body. It's an amazing thing! *hugs* pm me if you wanna talk.

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone lots of baby dust! My cycles are still a bit wonky, so I might not be POAS until June, but our first month of TTC is May.

  26. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

So I had a small freak-out this morning about whether considering TTC at all was a good idea. Maybe I'm gun-shy, maybe it's nerves, not sure. Anyone else ever feel like this? I know I'm being irrational, but it's hard not to be afraid sometimes...

  27. Sprite

    kiwi / 693 posts

@pui: Thanks! Good luck to you too!

@LovelyPlum: Yep, my avatar is Twink, Rainbow Brite's favorite Sprite. I was obsessed with Rainbow Brite as a kid, I even had my whole bedroom decorated with clouds and rainbows!

Also, I had a freak out at the end of last year about our TTC plans. Originally we were going to start in April, and I had a few weeks there of extreme nerves, just paralyzed at the thought of TTC in just a few short months, if I'd ever be ready to be a parent, etc. So we pushed back our timeline to help ease my fears a little. DH has had baby fever for a while now, but both of us had to be on board. Of course, after we pushed back our timeline, come March I was ready to get started, and now I've been tapping my foot impatiently, waiting for our new timeline to start! If we hadn't planned a big vacation in May, I would have wanted to go back to our earlier timeline.

All of that is to say, nerves are completely normal. It's scary! And you can always take some time off from TTC if it might help. But even once you get pregnant and have a baby, I don't think the fear will ever go away. I'm choosing, now that some time has passed since my freak out and I have some more perspective, to think of it as a big adventure instead. Adventures can often be scary, but usually they also end up being amazingly worthwhile and fulfilling and fun.

    nectarine / 2936 posts

@LovelyPlum: Um. Yes. I get so worried about all the responsibilities I/we have already and adding a baby on top of that. But that being said, I think it's just normal nerves. We will make it work!

This is my very first post! I hope it's not too late to join in.

    Current Cycle Day: CD20
Ovulation Date: May 2nd-ish (the last cycle I had pos OPK around CD25-26)
POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: I am thinking May 15th. This would be CD39 for me. My cycles have evened out to about 38-40 days for the last 5 months. I wish they were shorter. I hope this doesn't indicate something wrong with me. I'm a worrier though.
Cycles trying: Off BC since Oct 2012. This is our 2nd cycle actively trying.
BD timing: at least EOD during fertile window. Sometimes more. And of course a few other random days during the surrounding weeks.
Anything different his month: Trying to relax as much as I can. I put SO much pressure on myself the first month ttc. I was hoping to be a one hit wonder like some couples I've read about. I learned a lot last month.
And because it is May, favorite flower: Peonies, of course!

    Good luck to everyone!!

@Sprite: love that! Thanks for flashback Friday And you're right also about not freaking out being a choice. It's a scary thing. I never had a full-on freak-out, but last month made me skittish. Still, I'm pretty excited for the chance to be a mom

@mrs. 64: Amen to that. A baby makes me nervous, but not as much as getting pregnant...funny, huh?

  32. pinkpeony921

@lovelyplum: Yay, Thank you so much! I am really liking Hellobee- I feel the love & support already. I hope your day has gotten better. I experienced more emotions than I ever thought possible last month. TTC truly is a special journey. I have always known I've wanted children, but it is so different once you actually get to that point in your life! I am a nursery nurse so I get to see all of the little ones come into the world....the moms always say it is all so worth it once their sweet little ones are in their arms. I just try to remind myself that it may not be easy, but it will be worth it. Best wishes to you!!

So I've been having a lot of pain in my lower left abdomen for the last 8 or so days and I went to see the gyn yesterday. She thought I had an ovarian cyst and wanted me to come in for an ultrasound today. Today I went for the ultrasound and there was no cyst so now she is thinking is might be endometriosis. I know a lot of people with endo conceive healthy kids, but I took it really hard. She is going to monitor my pain through the next cycle and see if we need to proceed with a laproscopic procedure in the future. FX I conceive before we have to go that route!

@Mrs. 64: They are so beautiful. I got married in September, so they weren't in season I did light pink Garden Roses in place of peonies and still loved it!

Current Cycle Day: CD... not sure!
    Ovulation Date: April 25
POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: 9th May should be AF, if that doesn't happen I'll POAS on the 12th.
Cycles trying: 6 months, 3 cycles
BD timing: very haphazard this month, usually every other day
Anything different his month: acupuncture and chiropractor
And because it is May, favorite flower: ranunculus

Back after a week off the boards, enjoying a lovely week in Melbourne! I didn't have a positive OPK before I left but had the mittleshmertz (sp?) feeling while we were away. Poor timing for BD as we were out super-late that night and up very early the next morning to catch our flight. I doubt this was our month because the timing was a shocker but I'm finally starting to get into a good headspace about the whole thing. While I was over there I had a good heart-to-heart (in a crowded pub!) with my aunt who is a reiki practioner and I just feel like it's put me in a better mind set for the journey ahead.
Just need to keep up the exercise (we were walking about 10 kms a day) and the relaxation now we are back!

@LovelyPlum: @pinkpeony921: I have also had thoughts of omg, I don't know if I'm ready to be a parent, but I don't know if anyone ever really feels ready and fully prepared! At least that is what I hear!

@mrs. 64: oh I hope she is wrong and you can conceive without any procedures first (like this month!!)! I had a friend with fibroids who had to have them removed and she conceived quickly and easily once they could try again! So either way could be ok!

  38. Emsmems

    persimmon / 1331 posts

I got a opk tonight which I would normally be excited about except DH is at work tonight and he was in a bad mood last night so no BD for us. I'm hoping to get him in the morning when he gets home to get one small chance for a baby, but I'm not very hopeful. I just KNEW we should BD last night, but DH was "In a funk" and it's the first time in all of our 8 years together that he turned me down for sex.

To say I'm bummed is an understatement. But I keep telling myself I should be thankful my body has been regular and mostly predictable and I can try again next month. It just sucks. Ok, pity party for one is over! Thanks!

  39. Emsmems

    persimmon / 1331 posts

Well, we BD this morning. So now it's up to the baby gods. Let the TWW begin!

DH was in a much better mood and knew I was going to a baby shower today and said "I want you to go knowing we did our best this month". Made me feel better about everything, even if the timing wasn't the best!
