For those of you who have this pump - when it is pumping, do you feel a little gust of air out on the side that is "covered" if you're only pumping one side? I just noticed this today and am not sure if it is normal or if that means something isn't being covered correctly. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks!!

@scg00387: Do you mean when you put the plug over the hole where you would normally have the other tube? I don't normally feel anything, I think it should be covered completely so no air is escaping.

@hellobeeboston - yeah, I don't seem to have a problem with mine either, so I don't think it's an issue

U@CarrieLouWho: I emailed but haven't heard back. It definitely still works but works better if I manually hold the plug down so it doesn't puff.

I have a freestyle by medela, and I know that if I'm only using one, I have to cover the other end of the tube, otherwise there isn't enough suction.

I always move the little yellow plug over to the side that I'm not pumping, but I do notice that there is a little bit less suction then when both are going. Maybe your little yellow plug is broken??

@ChelseaRose: they sent me a generic email back with links to faqs and videos so zero help. I only pump sporadically so I doubt ill find the time to pursue it by phone

@scg00387: I found that my covered side leaked air too but it worked better that way, like if I held it tight the suction wasn't as good. I think the little give allows it to have a better pull.
Try holding the cover tight on it for a few seconds and then release and see if it works any better/worse?
ETA: I think they're made so its not air-tight -
