Q for everyone: has anyone tried to introduce an occasional mid morning nap for a toddler who's already dropped to one? Almost like a grown up would take if they needed more sleep? Not every day, just giving him the opp if he was up too late?
Backstory: We started transitioning from crib to bed 3 weeks ago and my son is not doing well with newfound freedom. Sometimes he willfully plays quietly in his room until 11 pm... Sometimes we miss the window and he lays there awake, trying to sleep, for hours. Every morning, regardless of ehen he went to sleep, he's up at 6:45. (He used to sleep until 8:30 some days!)
At the same time his nap schedule started to go wonky - I feared he was dropping his 12-30-3:30 nap until I saw him yawning at 11:30 one day and realized, again, we were just missing the window. I told the babysitter to put him down earlier, but today isn't an option - he has a gym class until 12:20. So I'm pondering whether we should try to give him the opp to nap earlier, like 10:30.
Just wondering if I'm crazy or if anyone's tried this. TIA!
